I am the “host” for a blog carnival of fellow WAHM/D’s and my topic for discussion is to find out how you pamper yourself. This can mean to destress, to reward yourself or just to take care of you in general.
What is a blog carnival? Basically, it is fellow bloggers who follow my lead and write about this discussion topic on their blog with a link back to this post. Or, you can post your reply in the comment section. I then incorporate your answers into this post with links to your blog. Its a great way to talk about this topic, while generating traffic to your blog.
Please keep in mind that my comment section is moderated, so your comment will not show up right away. No need to keep reposting it. Also, this is a family friendly blog, so no fowl language or crude remarks will be allowed.
So, being that this is my blog, I will go first. I think it might be very obvious how I pamper myself from the title of this blog.
I love love love bath and body products. Especially scented ones. Some scents can just set me in the best mood. Having great looking and feeling skin is my key to feeling great all day and helps me melt away stress.
I also like to self indulge in buying candles…I guess I am just a “scent” person.
A day of shopping at the mall or online with other WAHM’s is another way I like to reward myself, whether it be buying shoes (my favorite!), makeup, CD’s or new clothes, you can bet that I can find a way to burn a hole in my –husband’s– wallet!
Here are some snippet’s of what you have had to say. To read the full story, check out the comments for this post!
Ashley of The Kid Within said: I haven’t been pampering myslef very much here lately. Although I did yesterday I bought a new pair of jeans and a new shirt and 2 new pair of earrings. That’s how I usually pamper myself, by going on a shopping spree.
Susan of Susan’s Spa said: What a great question! I pamper myself by leaving enough time for myself to put myself together before I leave my house. I always apply my make-up and fix my hair, even if I’m only going to run errands. I also give myself a facial once a week and, when time permits, I get a professional pedicure.
Elke….oh Elke you make me blush that you even read what I have to say! Elke, the extremely talented celebrity make up artist and owner of the ever fabulous Beauty Newsletter said: Depends if I have money or not! But usually pampering means a massage if I can afford it. If not, then a hot bath, bubble, candles (anything cinnamon scented) and maybe even a glass of champagne.
Elizabeth said: I don’t think I know what it means to pamper myself anymore. With two very little ones, the most pampering I get is a daily retreat to the bathroom, locking the doors and getting a warm hot bath for a few minutes.
So what about you? How do you pamper yourself?
