Entry submitted by her husband Skip:
My wife is a amazing mother, 9 months ago we received a call that would change our lives forever. Her sister’s children were being taken into state care and the officer wanted to know if we could take them for a few days. I was worried how we could provide for 4 more children when we already had two, one who is severely handicap. My wife told me we would provide them day by day hour by hour with all the love we have.
We decided to be foster parents and take it one day at a time. When their biological mother decided to give them up for adoption I had my fears, how would I provide for them? I was just a local Cop and pay is not that great. My wife found a way, as she always does. She gave up her once a week out to eat lunch. She sold anything of her’s that she no longer needed. She shopped for sales and got them everything they may need. She tucks them in bed at night and stays up at night when they have nightmares. She fixes them the “perfect” lunches with sweet notes to go along with them. She makes sure every child knows they are special and loved equally in our home.
I remember asking her if she loved them as her children or as her sister’s children. She looked at me with a shocked look on her face and told me, “They are my children and I love them as my children. I didn’t have to give birth to them to love them as much as I love my biological children. They deserve a mom that will protect them and love them and care for them and teach them how special they are.”
She has given up so much so we could raise them and give them what is needed. She does not complain that she can no longer get her hair done or her nails. She does not complain that she no longer gets her special lunch treat or that she can no longer buy her Bath and Body Works that she loves so much.
I don’t know how my wife does it, she stays busy with the children in sports 5 to 6 days a week taking very little time for herself. I would love to win this as a “Thank you” for her being the best loving and caring mom there is. This would be a perfect gift with adoption day being 2 weeks away!

Even better – congratulations on your coming adoption(s)!
Congratulations! You are indeed a very special person and well-deserving of this gift. You have shown true selflessness– kudos to you and your husband. The true gift is being a mom to all those children. I’m sure you will be repaid many times over in smiles, hugs and love over the years.
A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. ~Washington Irving
Wishing you many happy days ahead,
Cheri
Trina seems like the kind of person who doesn’t realize that not everyone would do what she has done and not everyone could love the kids as their own like she has which makes her even more amazing.
Congratulations and enjoy your pampering!
Oh and be careful, some of the products are addictive. I’m not addicted to the shampoo I won. LOL
from this story, it’s clear.
Family is family,
and that’s why we’re here.
Congratulations, Trina:
You have been blessed with a marvelous husband,
wonderful family, and a special gift.
(And…a great prize!)
