Review: Alba Botanica’s Rainforest Hair Care

20090810-alba-rainforest-hair-careYou deserve to take that well-needed trip to a beautiful, tropical oasis in the rainforest that you’ve been waiting for. No, really, with Alba’s Botanica Rainforest Hair Care Collection anyone can escape on a getaway to a beautiful place…or maybe just to the shower. Of course while maintaining gorgeous, healthy hair that is. Within the Alba Botanica Rainforest Collection, I tried two different kinds of shampoo and conditioners…

The first kind that I tried was the Acai Shampoo and Conditioner. The minute I opened the bottle of this shampoo, I was taken aback by the wonderful, relaxing smells of acai berry (a natural antioxidant) mixed with passion fruit oil, creating a fruity, tropical aroma. This shampoo and conditioner was created to repair and protect hair from environmental damage and that’s exactly what it did from the minute I put it on.

The second shampoo and conditioner that I tried was the Cupuacu. This is highly suggested for people with dry hair or for someone who just can’t seem to quench their hair’s thirst (and I fit under this category.) This shampoo and conditioner, containing Cupuacu butter, delivers deep hydration for the hair and helps restore softness to your hair. This shampoo and conditioner smells so good; it almost smells like a mint, lemongrass tea. I could totally drink it…but it’s shampoo, so I won’t.

Now, I had tested this shampoo for a week, and coincidentally, I had been doing a lot of swimming in chlorine and had been going to the beach a lot, which was really taking a toll on my hair. My hair just felt stringy, dry and it definitely needed to be brought back to life. I had washed my hair with the shampoo and then put the conditioner in and I immediately felt a difference at the ends of my hair. They felt soft and completely hydrated; I have never felt my hair so healthy! So why don’t you give it a go, give your hair that long lasting drink that it’s been waiting for. hmmm??? i usually do tigi products but i like that this made your hair soft. I live in phoenix and I’m in the pool a lot. It takes a toll on colored hair or any hair for that matter!

Acai must be a new hot item on the market- they put it anywhere from energy drinks to skincare, and now shampoo? I admit havent tried any of the above items with acai, but the more reviews I am reading the more tempting it is to try this berry

I am curious if this shampoo would work well with my very sensitive skin.

    Long gone are the days
of ‘Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific’
    but as I love compliments
    (and that one, specific!)

    Now, more than scent
    Shampoo, to be fair,
    has to do MORE
    to give me perfect hair!

    My first comment got lost,
    But I’ll say it again:
    Aromatherapy’s key
    with shampoos—

The Cupuacu shampoo would work well for my color treated hair. Acai berry does seem to be in everything now.
