CHANEL. The name just oozes luxury doesn’t it? So when I got the chance to review CHANEL’s Exfoliating Cleansing Foam Purity + Anti-Pollution, I was excited. But that doesn’t compare to how I felt when the beautifully packaged bag arrived, complete with a luxuriously soft CHANEL washcloth—how decadent!
The packaging is a squeeze tube that opens on the bottom (also referred to as a malibu tube, I’ve heard), but the cap just twists on and off with a quick twist, not one of those ones you have to stand there spinning around and around. I invariably manage to drop those in the shower, so I like that this one twists right on. Hey, I gotta enjoy the simple things, right? Â
The cleanser itself is a pearly-looking creamy base with very tiny micro-exfoliating beads. The best way to use it is to squirt out a little bit and rub it onto wet skin. It lathers really well, and the lather is very creamy and luxurious, just the kind of thing you’d expect from luxury skincare. It has a fragrance; it sort of smells lightly soapy or perfumed. It’s not overpowering and doesn’t bother me in the slightest as I’m using the cleanser. The beads in the cleanser are very small, but they scrub well. My sensitive skin isn’t irritated by them as they clean, either.
When it’s time to rinse off the cleanser is when I really notice a difference between it and other cleansers. CHANEL’s exfoliating cleanser rinses off practically instantly. There is very little need for me to grope around aimlessly to make sure I don’t have beads stuck to my face. I just duck my head under the water in the shower and woosh, it’s gone. Awesome! After cleansing, my skin has that sort of “squeaky clean†feeling and I was afraid my skin would feel tight or dry, but that wasn’t the case here.
My overall impression of CHANEL’s Exfoliating Cleansing Foam Purity + Anti-Pollution is that it is a really nice treat. However, other than the wonderful creamy texture of the lather, I don’t feel like it’s all that remarkable in any particular way. Do I like it? Yes, very much. However, could I see myself shelling out $45 a tube every time I run out? No. But if you are looking for an indulgent treat for your face, go right ahead, because CHANEL’s exfoliating cleanser will make you very happy.
