Z Spoke Zac Posen Fall/Winter 2011 Preview.

What better way for A Girl’s Gotta Spa! to kick off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week than with an exclusive interview with Zac Posen and got2b celebrity stylist Larry Sims. A Girl’s Gotta Spa! was invited to take a sneak peek at the Z Spoke Fall/Winter 2011 collection (Zac Posen’s diffusion line), discuss the inspiration for the hair and get step-by-step instructions from  Larry Sims himself on how to go about  achieving the look without a celeb stylist at your beckon call.

Looks from the Z Spoke Fall/Winter 2011 Collection.

Because of the architectural feel of the collection, the designer wanted hair that would soften the look…give it a more feminine and sensual feel, as well as balance the looks.  He wanted what he termed “Rich Girl Hair”…shiny, healthy and full of luster, which is exactly what celeb stylist Larry Sims created.  It was hair that could definitely keep going from morning to night but still be touchable…”more approachable hair.”

Approachable hair paired with a "rock star" dress.

For hair that was versatile and effortless, Larry Sims  used  a brush, large barrel curling iron and the NEW göt2b rockin’ it hair stylers.  He started by spraying göt2b rockin’ it encore fresh dry shampoo on the roots and brush through to establish a fresh foundation. Next, Larry parted hair down the center of the head using a rat tail comb, then used a large barrel curling iron to wrap small sections of the hair in a downward motion. He highly recommends that you “curl hair from mid-strand down to achieve a naturally effortless wave.” He then brushed through the curls and locked in the style with göt2b rockin’ it encore hold hairspray for long lasting, movable hold.

Finally, for a textured finish, he emulsified a dime sized amount of göt2b rockin’ it encore hold gel in the palm of his hands and applied to the ends of the hair. “This is a modern, non-traditional way to break-up your style and add a unique texture to your look,” says Larry.

Runway hair that transitions from day to night in a few simple steps, and is approachable, feminine and sensual…did someone say today was Valentine’s Day?
