It’s no secret that I have an affinity for red lipstick. There’s something about it that gives you an instant boost of energy and confidence – it’s like a shot of espresso in a tube, and I can’t get enough of it.
That said, I’m willing to temporarily swap out lip color when I’m in the mood for a change. Red can be a tad too dramatic during the warmer months, so I’m always searching for new ways to make my lips pop without losing the drama factor. Enter fuschia lipstick: everything I love about red (confidence power and a bold, look-at-me hue) with a spring-y flair.
On a whim, I picked up Maybelline’s Fuchsia Fever from the grocery store. As a general rule of thumb, if I’m trying out a new shade I like to start with an entry-level product to make sure I like the way it looks. If I do, it’s off to Sephora I go!
Though I was initially afraid the color would be too bold, it was exactly what I was looking for – a hot pink, Katy Perry-esque color that was just too much fun to wear. The Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick I tried is great, too – the color lasts for much longer than I expected, and I only had to re-apply once or twice during my work day.
If you’re loving the candy-coated lip look, now’s the time to try it!
