Primers are an over 40 woman’s best friend! Face primers can erase large pores and smooth out wrinkles, lash primers can length and thicken lashes and eye primers keep eye shadow from creasing, fading and helps to intensify the pigment. It’s extrememly rare that I don’t use an eye primer EVERY SINGLE DAY. When Make Up For Ever released their new primer Eye Prime, I took notice. I admit I haven’t deivated much from Too Faced Show Insurance but I may have a found a new holy grail in Eye Prime. I used Urban Decay Primer Potion for a long time before I realized it was way too thick, I liked Too Faced Shadow Insurance but not the squeeze tube, like Goldilocks I think I’ve an eye primer that’s juuuuust right. 

The secret of a beautiful eye is all in the prep. Make Up For Ever Eye Prime is almost the exact color of my eye lid. I like that it’s a nude color, I’ve tried colored eye primers that promise to cancel out redness but they never work for me–I ended up looking sickly. This is meant to create a flawless canvas for eye makeup and really, all I want from an eye primer is to prep my eye for eye shadow. Period.

Eye Prime is formulated with a combination of waxes and fixing polymers that makes eye shadow smudge-proof, crease-proof and long lasting. The texture is very thin–important so your shadows don’t apply patchy. The tube has an easy to use  doe foot applicator (I mush prefer this to a squeeze tube) and it’s small and compact enough to throw in a purse or makeup bag.
