New For Fall – Tarte Cheek Stain Loving

Part of  Tarte’s terrific fall line up is the new Cheek Stain in Loving ($30). I disagree with Tarte’s description of soft rose, I see a beautiful pinky coral (my fav). As with all the cheek stains, it is a water-based gel tint that is easy to use and brings a lovely natural flush to the cheeks.

Swatched, Loving appears very glittery and I didn’t have much hope for this *ahem* older lady. I was delighted though, that the gold shimmer does not really translate to the skin depending upon your application. For a toned-down more fresh, natural look, I like to use a skunk brush so that I can build it up layer by layer. For a more shimmery look, swipe it on cheeks directly from the container and blend the edges. Loving is like Tipsy‘s younger, shier sister–not quite so bold I got 6-8 hours of wear with no fading from this stain. Either way, loving is a gorgeous color and it smells like  raspberry lemonade!

At $30 you may think this cheek stain is on the pricey side, but consider this. For $30.00 you get 1 ounce of product. Josie Maran Argan Color Stick is $22.00 but contain about half the product. Clinique Blushwear Cream Stick is $21.00 for 0.21 ounces. That makes the price a little easier to handle. Have you tried it?
