Dull uneven skin tone? Rough skin? Large pores and prone to breakouts?? Well look no further ladies and you gents, because here comes Ole Henriksen to the rescue! No, this is not an infomercial; I’m just so excited to be sharing a product that actually works! I’ve been on pins and needles waiting for the two week trial period I gave myself before writing about Ole Henriksen’s truth serum™ collagen booster.
I’ve used this brand before, but never tried any of the serums. Glad I finally did. I’ve been a long time user of Philosophy’s When Hope Is Not Enough serum but wanted to try something at night that is a bit thicker and will help with cell turn over. After looking at reviews of other products, the main reason I tried this particular serum, besides the rave reviews I encountered, was the price. At Sephora for $22.50, you’ll get a 0.5 oz of truth serum™ collagen booster and a 0.25 oz truth crème™ advanced hydration. Not bad for a starter kit.
So putting my Hope aside, twice a day I would apply the truth serum after washing, using scrubs or masks to my face. Two pumps are more than enough for application. Just warm for a couple seconds in your hands and apply to your face and neck. I also pat a bit under my eyes. I wait about a minute to let my skin soak it up then apply my eye cream and sunscreen in the morning and at night the truth crème. After about three days I started to notice a difference. My skin felt smoother, pores definitely minimized and my skin looked more even toned. I started using this serum on July 6th and I haven’t had any breakouts or blemishes. None.
The serum smells like oranges, so it gives you a bit of a morning perk. It’s thick, but not greasy. Feels very light on the skin and goes on smooth. The crème is light but very hydrating. There’s a hint of a citrus smell in the crème and also it smelt a bit medicinal, which did not bother me at all. Besides, with the results that I have seen, smell is no issue. These products are also formulated without the icky parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, pthalates, GMOs and triclosan. Who needs all that, right?
As of today I’m excited to say that my face has never looked or felt better. It’s smooth, feels firmer, and has a very lovely glow, there is no unevenness and still no breakouts. I had also noticed there were some milia underneath my eyes and they seem to be disappearing once I started using this serum. Although I’m using the serum twice a day, I’ve barely made it halfway through the bottle; I will be getting the larger sizes of both once they’re done. I will continue to use my Hope in the mornings but will stick to using this combo of truth serum™ collagen booster and truth crème™ advanced hydration at night. Best $22.50 I ever spent! Have you used it?
