5 Fabulous Body Scrubs!

Now that Fall and colder temperatures are upon us, we may have to work at little harder at keeping our skin soft and smooth. The following is a list of great body scrubs I tested that get the job done. There is something for everyone here–from the girly girl to the more mature woman. Take a look at who made my list!

Soap and Glory Flake Away ($18) – For the Girly Girl

After a brief departure, the Soap and Glory brand is back in the U.S. and I am thrilled!  Retro girly, tongue-in-cheek packaging make Soap and Glory products just plain ‘ol fun!! This heavenly scented scrub boasts Soap and Glory’s signature Pink fragrance. This scrub deep cleanses, exfoliates and moisturizes all without any oily residue! See the full review here.

Fresh Brown Sugar Polish ($38) – for the Foodie

It wasn’t until I received this in a gift set that I had any interest in trying it. I don’t care for gourmand scents—I don’t want to smell like a gingerbread man or a cupcake, ya’ know? To my surprise and delight this scrub has more than brown sugar—in fact that’s just the exfoliation aspect—the real scent is a fresh citrus lemon, mmmm. The grains are very chunky but not very harsh as they melt into your skin. There is a good mix of grains and softening oils leaving your skin with a nice sheen. This is the most expensive but if you’re up for a splurge go for it, you won’t be disappointed.

LUSH Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub ($19.95)- for the Little Mermaid in all of us

Ocean Salt is a lush-ious (get it?) shade of blue that is great for all skin types. The ingredients are a mixture of sea salt, lime, coconut, grapefruit mixed in a fruity vodka base. Me likey! Although LUSH recommends it for daily use, personally I think it’s too harsh for more than two to three times a week and definitely not for sensitive skin. The sea salt is quite course so I wouldn’t use this on my face. For the body, however it gives a good and very refreshing scrub.

Calgon Ageless Exfoliating Mineral Scrub and Soak ($7) for the more “Mature” Crowd

Yes, this is the “Calgon take me away” brand. This scrub is fairly gentle and is mixed with quite a bit of moisturizing oil so you can’t overdo it. The scrubbing grains are very fine making it great for every day use as well as the low price (about $6.50). The high moisturizing oil content and the very fine grains make this scrub for more mature or sensitive skin. If you enjoy fragrance in your body products, you will love the strong floral scent, if fragrance bothers you, look elsewhere.

Champneys Mediterranean Bliss Body Glow ($12.99) for the Anglophile

If you’re looking for an indulgent treat at a budget price, turn to the Champneys Spa Indulgence line. Available at Target, this world class brand imported from the UK is a favorite among the Royal family  well as celebrities. The offering includes four scents with products ranging from body hydrators to scrubs to shower creams. The floral, fruity flirty scent of Mediterranean Bliss will last well after your shower and leaves you feeling alluring and seductive. See the full review here.
