Maybelline’s new Color Show limited edition colors for the holidays includes Silver Gleam.
When applying Maybelline’s Color Show nail lacquer, I did not use a base or top coat. The formula is fast drying, which the hurry up I’m multi-tasking part of me absolutely loved. The shine is intense. The glittering ornaments on my Christmas tree sure had some competition! The pieces of glitter, both small and chunky pieces, are suspended in a clear gel to give you the most shine.
The downside, from my experience, is that this polish chipped pretty easily. I’m not one to tip toe around the polishes I test, because I’m an active person who cooks, cleans, does laundry and taps her fingers away on the computer for work. In other words, I’m not wearing kit gloves and being gentle for the sake of giving a good review. I was disappointed that Silver Gleam didn’t survive more than 2 days of wear and tear, but I do believe that this is a good holiday party nail lacquer. The color is gorgeous and attracts attention…just what I like when I walk in a room.
