The next time you’re perusing the aisles at Walmart looking for eggs or bread, take a detour at make a stop at the makeup section (like you don’t already). Don’t let the glittery, teenybopper display fool you, there is some good stuff there. Seriously, Hard Candy has some awesome products and even more awesome prices!
Walk the Line Liquid Eyeliner ($6) is an extremely long wearing liquid eyeliner with TONS of glitter– too much for my taste. The colors are beautiful however. I tried Turquoise but I think it much more of an emerald shade, regardless it is a rich deep jewel tone.
While the Hard Candy Walk The Line Eyeliner is über glittery, the Single and Loving It eye shadows aren’t-necessarily. They come in three finishes; pearl, glitter and shimmer and in 12 rich shades for a measly $3! Wild Thing is a very pretty teal with a nice sheen. The problem with these shadows is that they fade fairly quickly, but c’mon what do you expect for 3 bucks!
Hard Candy Glossaholic Lip Gloss ($5) is ginormous with an equally ginormous applicator! Literally one swipe is all you need. The texture is quite thin and non-sticky which I prefer–I hate thick, sticky glosses. These lustrous lip glosses are infused with micro-shimmer that isn’t over the top and a nice light vanilla scent. Sweet Peach is a pale peach that applies very sheer with not much color at all. Two of the eight shades that are considered “sparkling clear top coats” and are infused with mood altering elixirs to help you Chill Out or Rise & Shine! – You can wear alone or as a top coat. That’s kind of fun!
The product I’m most impressed with is All Glossed Up Shockingly Glossy Lip Pencil ($6). These lip pencils glide on smoothly and the one I tried, Pout has good pigment. They have just the right amount of shine and have good wear time.
The next time you’re in Walmart, stop by the Hard Candy display, you might be surprised at what you find! Make sure to take a good look at the Blush Crush Baked Blushes–glowy goodness for only $6! My favorite is Honeymoon.
