Two things that I always look for when purchasing beauty products are that the product(s) are as natural as possible and they are multi-functional. I work hard at feeding my body things that will nourish it instead of harming it and I don’t want to undo that hard work by applying things to my skin that are unhealthy and harmful. I also travel a ton so the less products I can lug from place to place the better, this is why I look for products that can be used in a variety of ways…plus if something is multi-functional it also reduces the amount of products I have to purchase, which is great for my wallet and for the environment since this also means less waste. This past week I had the absolute joy of trying a product that is both natural and multi-functional.
The Whipped Shea Butter Mask by KYI (which stands for “know your ingredients”) is something that I think everyone should have handy. Not only could I pronounce all of the ingredients in this mask, but I also knew what they were. The ingredients in the Whipped Shea Butter Mask in Chamomile Lavender are: refined shea butter, jojoba oil, essential oils of orange, mandarin and ginger grass, essential oil of litsea cubeba and essential oil of chamomile and lavender and that is it.
The mask has a naturally soothing scent that is very light and never overpowering. The mask actually does feel like whipped butter. It is uber moisturizing, but does not feel overly greasy. Since the mask is multi-functional it can be used as a face mask at night to minimize wrinkles and keep skin supple. It can be used as a deep conditioning treatment for hair and also on any rough dry patches that need a bit of extra moisturizing. I love applying it to my hands, feet, elbows and lips at night and it works great as a deep conditioning treatment on my hair. I am definitely taking this with me on any long flights that I have in the future since my entire body gets so dehydrated on airplanes. This mask is most certainly on my top ten list of favorite beauty products. Have you tried it?
