Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Colour Review

LauraMercier

You know you’ve found a new best friend in your lipstick when you receive compliments left and right on your first wear.

One of my favorite things about the changing of the seasons is getting to play with new makeup shades and change up my lip routine. During the winter months I wear a ton of lip balm because I’m obsessed with keeping my lips moisturized. Most lipsticks dry out my lips and that never looks hot, but most lipsticks aren’t Laura Mercier’s Crème Smooth Lip Colour ($26). I wish I stumbled upon this lip color a few months ago because it fulfills my need for moisture during winter and comes through with some incredibly rich color.

Where do I even start with this love-fest?! For starters, the Spring/Summer collection was just unveiled and there are 14 new shades to lust over. Since the minute the groundhog saw his shadow, I’ve been thinking pink and plotting my Spring beauty plan. I was instantly drawn to 60’s Pink. It’s the perfect pink and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the color you see in the tube is the exact color you get on your lips! Ladies, how often does that actually happen? Hardly ever, right?!

Pinks are my safe go-to color, but I’ve been trying to be more adventurous with my lips . . . so to be daring I went with the red-ish more daring shade of Damask as well. It’s red without being fire engine red and I’m in love. I can’t decide what I love most about Laura Mercier’s Crème Smooth Lip Colour . . . the rich shades or the fact that the color glides on so smoothly and doesn’t dry out my lips. I feel like I just discovered the perfect lip product. Laura Mercier’s Crème Smooth Lip Colour feels like a perfect mix between a lip balm and a lipstick coating my lips. Does it get better than that?

Actually, it does!  Another amazing thing I love about Laura Mercier’s perfect Crème Smooth Lip Colour is a big one. I’m not a huge fan of lip liner, so it’s a bonus when I can find lip color that looks good and stays put without using liner. This is a huge plus for me because though I love makeup, I like to consider myself relatively low maintenance and don’t have the patience for liner.  This cream formula will rock your world, won’t dry out your lips, doesn’t clump or feather, is perfectly fragrance free, and will give you a rich coating of color perfect to polish off your look.

If you’re ready to step up your beauty routine and jump into Spring with some rich lips, check out the 14 new bold shades. You can pretty much toss out the handful of random lip products that are in your bag now because this lip color covers your moisturizing needs as well as color. This could very well be the only lip product you will need this Spring and Summer.
