Whenever I see the words all natural, mostly organic, and use of biodegradable and recyclable packaging applied to beauty products, it becomes pretty much impossible for me to resist trying said products. My latest beauty temptation was products from Meow Meow Tweet, a line of all natural, organic, vegan products created in Brooklyn, NY by couple Tara and Jeff.
The Meow Meow Tweet products that I’ve been using are the cocoa vegan lip balm, deodorant cream with lavender, tea tree eucalyptus soap and grapefuit clove soy wax candle. The cocoa lip balm contains candelilla wax, cocoa butter, hempseed and virgin coconut oils with essential oils. It is uber moisturizing and softening without being heavy and waxy.
The deodorant cream with lavender contains virgin coconut & jojoba oils, shea butter, baking soda, arrowroot powder, kaolin clay and lavender essential oil. It keeps my underarms both dry and moisturized with a very subtle lavender scent that is never overpowering and does not compete with any of my other fragrances. I love the cooling/tingling sensation that I experience when I first apply the deodorant cream. The tea tree eucalyptus soap is detoxifying, exfolitating and moisturizing with ingredients such as; saponified oils of olive, coconut, sunflower, and castor; cocoa butter, activated charcoal, oats, essential oils of tea tree & eucalyptus. I’ve been using the soap to cleanse my face since lately everything seems to irritate my skin causing awful breakouts and so far it’s been very good to my skin.
The grapefruit clove soy wax candle is made from 100% soy wax is scented with 100% pure essential oils and hand poured in a glass jar with a sustainable hemp cotton wick that is lead free. The aroma is spicy and soothing and perfect for those nights in.
Contributing to A Girl’s Gotta Spa! has given me the opportunity to try tons of beauty brands that are natural, organic and vegan and I more than most know that just because products are natural and organic does not mean that they are going to perform well…or at times even perform at all. I was pleasantly surprised that the Meow Meow Tweet products I tried performed great and are good for my skin and the environment.
