3 DIY Holiday Inspired Spa Treatments

3 Holiday-Inspired #Spa Treatments

With winter vacation just around the corner kids of all ages are exploding with anticipation for many school-free days, Spafinder Wellness 365 has some budget friendly and tech free ideas to keep kids entertained for the days not dedicated to family gatherings, traveling, or last minute shopping. I’d even say these are perfect for those, “No School” snow days, as well!

Treat the kids (and yourself) to an at-home spa-day. Don’t trust the eight-year-old to paint your nails or do your makeup? Not to worry, we have three recipes for indulgent treatments that are kid-friendly and mom-approved! Best of all, these recipes feature ingredients you probably already have at home!

For more information about DIY spa treatments or other fun ways to treat your kids while they are home for the holidays visit spafinder.com.

Gingerbread Body Polish

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 cup raw sugar
  • ½ inch of fresh ginger, peeled and run through food processor
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Gently rub over areas of dry skin and rinse thoroughly.

This polish will leave the skin soft and silky while warming the senses!

Candy Cane Body Scrub

  • ¼ cup grape seed oil
  • 1 cup raw sugar
  • 5 drops peppermint essential oil or 2 drops peppermint extract
  • ½ candy cane, run through food processor until very fine

Note: if you do not own a food processor place candy canes in a plastic bag and roll over with a rolling pin.

Mix all ingredients to form a paste and apply to hands, feet, elbows, knees, or other areas that need an exfoliate; leave on for 1-2 minutes, and rinse with lukewarm water.

This cooling foot scrub will soothe tired feet while leaving you feeling invigorated!

Orange Spice Foot Mask

  • ½ cup whole oats
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoons warm water
  • 1 teaspoon oil of choice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • ¼ cup orange juice

Mix all ingredients to form a paste and apply to feet, leave on for 1-2 minutes, and rinse with lukewarm water.

This mask will hydrate and warm the feet!

All recipes above were created for Spafinder Wellness 365 by their partner The Lodge at Woodloch (and one of our favorite local Poconos Spas!)

We’d love to hear if you give these spa recipes a try!
