GRAMMY’s Inspired Beauty

I always love the first few months of the new year. Not because it is fresh with possibilities, at least not when it comes to New Year’s resolutions, but because it is award season! This is the time of year when the red carpet is ablaze with hot trends, inspiring hair and makeup looks and plenty of
oh I’d love to duplicate that moments. While The Golden Globes and Oscar’s are filled with elegant and demur looks, music is my first love and I’ll take GRAMMY-inspired beauty any day.

True, the looks on the red carpet at the GRAMMY’s are usually cutting edge, maybe a little more revealing than you’d like (at my age showing my arms from the elbows down is as revealing as I’ll go), but there are plenty of commonalities that all celebrities follow in order to have a successful camera-ready red carpet look. I’ll break them down, that way you, too, can follow these same steps for your big event and leave the paparazzi (aka your husband, boyfriend, significant other) vying for your attention.

Red Carpet Beauty Tips #RedCarpetGlam

Beauty PrepThese are the things you do leading up to the big event – things you need to plan out in advance.

7 Days Before the Event

Get working on that smile. While the right red lipstick may do the trick in a pinch, up close people will know your secret. I have long been a fan of Crest 3D White Strips Professional Effects. It’s formulated with the same enamel-safe ingredient dentists use and will get you bright, white teeth in a flash! I love how easy they are to use (I’ve been known to wear them while cooking, cleaning and typing away on my computer) and that it doesn’t take long to begin seeing results.

Revive your dull hair color. Have you ever noticed how fresh the hair color of your favorite celebs look on the red carpet? Not only does coloring your hair brighten your overall look, it can make hair appear freshly cut, incredibly healthy and make you look younger. Clairol Expert Age Defy is a great way to accomplish this at home for an affordable price. For those of you with gray hair (i.e. me), it provides 100% gray coverage and provides long-lasting, brilliant color.

1 Day Before the Event

Wash your hair. One thing you don’t want to do the day of the event is wash your hair (it will be too difficult to add volume to or hold the style perfectly for hours.) So the day before, be sure to wash it and use a hair treatment like Pantene Damage Detox Weekly Rehab Creme. Hair treatments are essential, especially if you color your hair. Pantene’s Damage Detox helps to reset your hair by cleansing impurities, protecting from oxidative damage and providing shine.

Day of the event: Things you’ll want to accomplish the day of your important event.

Go hair-free. OK, this is a given – leave no stragglers behind. Try Gillette Venus & Olay, which will lock in moisture for less dryness while giving you a closer shave, so nothing will hold you back from showing off your legs. Wearing a sleeveless dress? Even better.

Hydrate your skin. Celebrities always have the best looking skin on the red carpet and if you want touchably soft skin that lasts all day…start in your shower. Olay Sensitive Body Wash will gently cleanse your skin while leaving it silky to the touch. Remember to follow up with a lotion post-shower as well!

Retain your confidence. When I have an important event to attend to, that’s when my everyday deodorant is overlooked and I go for something that will hold up under pressure. Secret Clinical Strength Light & Fresh provides maximum strength protection without announcing it to the world with a strong antiperspirant smell (you know exactly what I mean.)

Be the sexy starlet. As a beauty junkie, one of the first things I notice about celebrities at the GRAMMY’s, are their amazing lashes. COVERGIRL Bombshell Volume has two brushes and two formulas that deliver mega volume and dramatic intensity. Bold, flirty lashes get noticed.

Touch-Ups: Must-have products that’ll keep your look intact.

Transform your hair. Remember I told you not to wash your hair the day of your event? You’ll want to use a dry shampoo instead to absorb excess oil and give your tresses lift and texture. I love that Herbal Essences NAKED Volume Dry Shampoo uses a natural tapioca formula to accomplish this. Your hair will smell like you washed it, while looking like you just stepped out of the salon.

Whiten one last time: The morning of your event forego the coffee or tea and whiten instead. Give your teeth one more whitening treatment with the Crest 3D Whitestrips to make sure your teeth look as bright as possible.

So as you can see, these are completely achievable tips to include into your beauty regimen to get ready for your special event that will help you to look just as fabulous as those beauties on the red carpet.

Will you be watching the GRAMMY’s? Which celebrity are you most inspired by on the red carpet? Katy Perry I have my eyes on you.
