If you read my Urban Decay Naked 3 eye shadow palette review, you could probably tell that I’m pretty much obsessed with UD’s Naked line. My passion for their eye shadows drove me to hunt down the new Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss ($20) the moment it was available. No really, I literally called around to every Sephora and Ulta within an hour’s drive to see if they had any in yet. My local Sephora had just gotten a few in and they weren’t even on display yet.
Luckily, being the loyal and frequent customer that I am, they allowed me to purchase the new Naked gloss before they put it out on display! Being a pink gal, I picked up “Lovechild” and I’m loving it. The formula is light, hydrating, and sheer while still being kind of creamy. It’s an interesting formula that leaves your lips nourished and nicely coated with a gloss that’s just enough. I’m a big fan of glosses that are light and creamy without being sticky. No stick here. I don’t want to throw my other favorite lip gloss under the bus, but in comparison, this gloss formula is winning. It’s not thick or clumpy and definitely doesn’t leave funny clumps in the corners of your mouth. It’s a nice coating of color and shine!
These glosses are super sheer. I sampled each of the 8 different shades and it doesn’t really seem that they vary much. Because of that, this wouldn’t be the kind of gloss that you’d need to collect all of them in the range. It’s a natural lip look with a pop of shine. After spending a full week wearing Lovechild, I can safely say I’m only getting an hour or so of wear. Results may vary because frankly, I drink a TON of water and I am a compulsive lip product applier. The downside to that comes into play when you’re spending $20 on a lip gloss and using it ALL the time. I don’t know about you, but I still have a hard time justifying $20 for lip gloss. In this case, I’m just going to keep hiding the receipts from my husband because I’m definitely going to purchase this one again. If you like the Naked line, these glosses will pair nicely with the new Naked 3 shadows rose hues.
