Coolway True Smooth Review

Coolway True Smooth #haircare #review

I don’t know about you, but Winter dried out my hair in the worst way. For the last few months I’ve had to deal with super staticy hair, not to mention frizz like I’ve never experienced before. Honestly, it was worse than getting hit with humidity in the summer. You, too? Then read on.

I recently discovered °Coolway True Smooth while browsing through‘s search and discovery platform while seeking help with my hair. ( is a great way to search your favorite brands to compare prices, find out-of-stock products and learn about the best steals, deals and giveaways.) Two things caught my attention right away – True Smooth promises shorter drying time and frizz-free hair.

True Smooth contains °Coolway’s Amino Lock MAB molecule, which is activated by your own blow dryer to hold your style from the inside of the hair as you are drying it. They promise that you’ll get the same smooth, frizz-free results you would get from a flat iron without the damage and actually using one. I have to admit that I was skeptical since my hair has a natural wave to it and the only way to tame it, is with a flat iron.

True Smooth is $24.95 (plus shipping and handling.) Shipping was super fast, by the way. I received it 3 days after I ordered it. They also offer a 30 day money-back guarantee. It’s hard to judge a product’s size when looking at online, but I expected it to be larger than it was when it arrived. Despite the small size (although good things come in small packaging, right?) the product is intended to last for the full 30 days.

To get the best results with True Smooth, you spray evenly throughout wet hair 25-50 times. I know. I was surprised, too, because I’ve never sprayed that much product into my hair ever. The amount you have to spray depends on both the length of your hair and also the texture. Obviously if you have finer hair, you’ll need less and more coarse, textured hair will require more. My hair is about medium length (a little past my shoulders) so I opted for around 30ish sprays. I expected that much product to weigh my hair down. It didn’t. I also expected that much product to make my hair uber greasy. It didn’t.

This is how my hair normally looks without any styling aids. A natural wave and frizzy.

To be honest, my hair was actually smoother than I’ve ever felt it and smelled really good. (Almost a coconut fragrance.) My kids kept remarking that my hair had a nice scent to it, so when the boys notice, you know you’re on the right track because anything other than video games rarely gets their attention.

Coolway promises reduced frizz by 50% and I’d say they delivered. While my hair was not completely frizz-free (is that even possible anyway?) there was definitely a noticeable difference to my hair.

Coolway True Smooth also promises to reduce drying time. I’m not a hair scientist, for a the record, but I did notice that my hair did dry slightly quicker. I typically section my hair with clips in order to cut down dry time, as well as frizz, so I used the same steps I normally would to see if I would notice anything measurable. I did.

My hair was straight and less frizzy only using Coolway True Smooth for a styling aid (and no flat iron!)

What I really liked, though, is that the smoothness and reduced frizz lasted beyond the day I used it. If you are a long time reader, you know that I don’t wash my hair every day to keep it healthy. I kept with my same routine of only washing it 2-3 times a week, and True Smooth kept working on the days I simply brushed through my hair without washing and re-styling.
