In 2005, Shannon launched her beauty blog, A Girl’s Gotta Spa!, as a forum to merge her love of beauty products and writing and give consumers product reviews they could relate to. As one of the first beauty bloggers, she chose this social media platform as a means of vastly expanding her reach while driving sales to her affiliates and home business. In 2006, she partnered with b5media LLC to write Makeup Minute and was brought on board as Chief Blogger and Publicist for Pierce Mattie Public Relations. In 2008, Pierce Mattie Public Relations promoted her to the role of Corporate Communications Director.
Shannon’s ability to balance her role as a blogger and public relations strategist have given her unique insight into the beauty industry from both the consumer’s perspective, as well as from a branding standpoint. Her vast experience and knowledge of social media and blogging combined with a strategy-driven focus and ability to explain various initiatives in straight-forward, easy to understand language, have positioned her as a go-to resource for many beauty editors and beauty brands.
A Girl’s Gotta Spa! can be found in the top ranking blog networks such as Total Beauty and The Beauty Blog Network. She is also considered a top blogger by All Top and is listed among the best beauty blogs on the web. A Girl’s Gotta Spa! has been mentioned in publications such as Glamour, Nail Pro, Trendi, Skincare-News, On Makeup Magazine, Woman’s World and WE Magazine.
She recently began doing public speaking regarding social media and the beauty industry, as well as social media consulting with various beauty brands. To learn more about her please visit her LinkedIn profile.
Shannon lives in Northeast PA with her four young sons, who are of course, the most beautiful children in the world (but who’s bias?)
