Susan Posnick COLORFLO Loose Mineral Foundation and Kabuki Brush

Susan Posnick COLORFLO Mineral Foundation review via @agirlsgottaspa
I know that this may sound somewhat contradictory, but I love wearing makeup that I can’t really feel.

I like knowing that it’s there on my skin, but do not want to be reminded that it’s actually sitting on my skin throughout the day. Read more

Ambi Even and Clear CC+ Cream for Women of Color

Ambi CC Cream review via @agirlsgottaspa
Finding makeup that contains sunscreen, but does not leave my skin looking gray and ashy, has always been a challenge for me. I’m sure it has been a challenge for a lot of women of color, too.

I love and want to take care of my skin by making sure that I wear a broad spectrum sunscreen with an spf of at least 20, but I also hate the feel of too much product sitting on my face (especially during the warmer months.) It can be difficult to find makeup that also provides broad spectrum sun protection without making me look like I’ve put baby powder on my face. Can you relate??? Read more

GuruNanda Pulling Oil

Oil pulling with Gurunanda Pulling Oil via @agirlsgottaspa

Before starting GuruNanda’s Pulling Oil, I had heard about the practice of oil pulling, but I had never done it myself nor had any close friends or family who had done it. Although, there is a ton of information on the ancient practice of oil pulling readily available at my fingertips, I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect (the taste, feeling, etc.)

Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic procedure. It involves using oil as a mouthwash and swishing it in your mouth for about 15-20 minutes, then spitting it out. This action is meant to pull out toxins in your body and is very beneficial for your health, especially your oral health. Read more

1907 Alkaline Water Review

Benefits of alkaline water via @agirlsgottaspa

By now, we all know…or should know the health and beauty benefits of drinking water. Approximately 50 to 70% of our body mass is made up of water so it is important to replenish our bodies with the water that we lose on a daily basis.

Water is essential to our health because it removes toxins from our bodies thus cleanses it and is required to process all of the nutrients from the food we eat and carry the assimilated nutrients to the cells by circulating through the lymphatic system.

Drinking water also has a ton of beauty benefits.  Drinking water prevents dehydration, which becomes most noticeable in your skin first. If you’ve ever gotten the flu and became dehydrated you may have noticed it first in your lips cracking and becoming dry and then on your face as well. Read more

Makeup Brush Cleaning Tips from Makeup Artist Lauren Snyder

Tips for cleaning your makeup brushes from makeup artist Lauren Synder via @agirlsgottaspa

One part of our beauty routine that we tend to neglect quite often is ensuring that our makeup brushes are kept clean and bacteria free.  Dirty makeup brushes can transfer old makeup, germs, and bacteria to your skin each time you use them, so it is important to regularly wash your brushes to get rid of buildup. As a bonus, washing your brushes also makes them work better as well.  When it comes to cleaning my makeup brushes I will be the first to admit that I am absolutely clueless, so I decided to consult with an expert and consulted LA based Makeup Artist Lauren Snyder for her tips on cleaning and caring for makeup brushes.

A Girl’s Gotta Spa!: What are some of your favorite makeup brush cleaning tricks? Read more

Energize Greens Supplement Review

Energize Greens Dietary Supplement review via @agirlsgottaspa #ad

I am very much a fan of leading a healthy lifestyle.  I strongly believe that being active and eating a clean, well-balanced diet is the best way to prevent illnesses and look and feel your best and most energized.

For the most part, in addition to working out regularly, I try to avoid caffeine and sugars and instead consume foods that are naturally energizing whenever I am feeling run down and like I need an extra boost of energy.

Energize Greens Dietary Supplement is a natural supplement of nutritious green superfoods that I have been using for the past two weeks that not only boosts my energy level, but also improves my health, alkalizes my body and boosts my immune system. Read more

Spongelle Body Wash Infused Body Buffers

Spongelle Body Wash Infused Buffers review via @agirlsgottaspa

I am an absolute devotee of beauty products that are able to multitask. For me multitasking beauty products are an absolute godsend, so whenever I catch wind of one of these products I HAVE to try it, which is why I had to try Spongellé Body Wash Infused Buffer and Pedi Buffer.

The Spongellé Body Buffer is infused with a shower gel containing  skin care ingredients to cleanse, exfoliate, stimulate circulation, and moisturize skin. Each buffer has its own one-of-a-kind fragrance blend. In addition to body buffers, Spongellé also has pedi buffers to prevent dry, rough feet by buffing away calluses. Read more
