Bacne. Something that is often dreaded when the warmer weather hits and you want to ditch the layers.
While I personally haven’t experience body acne, I do have keratosis pilaris on my arms and legs, so I know the feeling of having a skin condition I want to clear up and am often embarrassed by.
There’s a lot of great body washes out there that can help diminish body acne without a prescription and without the uber drying effects of benzoyl peroxide. While that’s an effective ingredient, it just creates a secondary issue for you to have to deal with – dry, flaky skin. No thanks!
Here are 4 body washes that we’ve found work best on body acne (and smell great too!) Read more
Oh the summer skin care woes. From sunburn to body acne to sun parched skin, we’ve gathered expert tips for how to avoid them from the start.
Perspiration, body acne
Expert Tip: “To prevent breakouts in the summer, use oil-free moisturizer. During the hotter months skin’s natural oil combined with oil-free moisturizer is enough to keep skin well-hydrated. This trick will also help prevent skin from looking too shiny in the summer.” –Alina Cimpoeru, lead esthetician at The Guerlain Spa Read more

Inflammation, Environmental Irritant Damage
Tip: The wound healing herb, Calendula, is traditionally known to reduce inflammation and soothe irritation. Create an at-home face mist, combine dried Calendula flowers and oats in a French press, letting it steep in boiled distilled water for 10 minutes. Once cool, pour into spray bottle and spritz face liberally for soft and hydrated skin. – Barbara Close, Founder at Naturopathica Chelsea Healing Arts Center & Spa Read more

This post was sponsored by Amopé™ as part of an influencer activation for the #AmopeCrowd and Socialstars™. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review, but all opinions (and sandal-ready feet) are my own.
Florals and citrus, a shorter hairstyle, light breezy dresses, sandals…warmer weather opens the doors to both shed our winter layers and reveal some skin.
Depending on how you look at it, this can be a welcomed change, or something that you dread. I used to be embarassed to wear sandals or my favorite flip-flops out in public. It always seemed that no matter what I did, I could not reign in the cracks on my heels or the dryness on the tops of my toes. (Please tell me I’m not alone.)
Sure an amazing pedicure at one of my favorite local spas would whip my feet into shape, but only for a short time. As much as I enjoy time at the spa, it’s not always in my budget and sometimes I just can’t swing my schedule. So finding the right products to get that spa-worthy pedicure at home is something I’m always on the hunt for and I think I finally found the right mix. Read more

10 years ago having my own beauty brand was just a dream out of reach. A year and a half ago, I made it a reality.
A Girl’s Gotta Spa! ® bath and body products are Leaping Bunny certified cruelty free, and contain vegan and natural ingredients.
Where most companies launch with the very popular lavender fragrance, I chose citrus due to its uplifting qualities. There’s always some point in our day when we need a little invigoration to make it through.
I’m giving away A Girl’s Gotta Spa! 3-Piece Gift Set (ARV $76) to one winner. The gift set includes Energizing Citrus Body Lotion, Body Wash and Salt Scrub.

“Lock & Mane was started with two goals: bringing you the best hair and beauty products and giving you a luxurious, easy and fun shopping experience.”
What drew me to Lock & Mane is that their selection is not overwhelming. You won’t find hundreds of brands, 20-30 pages to search through for a lotion, or more frustrating, a company that has never tried the products they sell themselves. Read more
