Makeup Tips: Senna Mineral Eyeshadow Trio with a Bright Lip

DSCN7754

When I first received this Senna Mineral Eyes Shadow Trio in Satin Doll in a Glossybox I wasn’t impressed. It wasn’t as pigmented as expected and really blended out too easily. I promptly put it in a drawer to be forgotten and there it sat sad and unused. Fast forward to the beginning of spring and you’ll find me digging through my stash for something exactly like this! A Girl’s Gotta Spa! Featured in Spry Living Mom Makeover

Don’t forget to enter our Mom: Get Glamorous Contest (entries taken until May 24th!)
Join our Twitter Party on May 15th from 1pm-2pm EST #momglamorous

When Spry Living Magazine asked me if myself and two A Girl’s Gotta Spa! bloggers would be interested in making over our moms, we didn’t hesitate to say yes. Myself, Ashley and Hillary all participated in Spry Living’s Take Year’s Off Your Looks Instantly (web and print) story and Making Over Mom with tips.

Each of our moms had challenges that prevented them from updating their look. My mom had hair loss/thinning hair, sagging skin, etc. all related to bariatric surgery she had two years ago. Ashley’s mom has nerve damage and a disability when it comes to the use of her arm. Hillary’s mom was nervous since losing all of her hair so long ago (but it has since grown back.)

From skin care to hair care to makeup, here’s the breakdown of the products used to transformed our moms.

Eyeko Mascara Wardrobe Review

Eyeko Mascara Wardrobe 1

One of the first questions my best friend Sarah asks me when we see each other is always, “What kind of mascara are you using these days?” We bond over makeup and our lifelong quest for the perfect product … especially mascara. When I told her about the Eyeko Mascara Wardrobe, she was all ears. I love to see what other ladies are into, so every couple of weeks I browse the Best Sellers section on Sephora.com. That’s where I first saw Eyeko’s Mascara Wardrobe. ($28) If it’s a best seller, my assumption is there’s got to be a lot to love!

What’s really cool about this is that it comes with 1 mascara, but 3 different brushes … for 3 different eyelash looks. In this set, you get the three-in-one conditioning formula with Carbon Black finish. A super glossy black mascara formula that’s extra-thick. (That means you only need 2 coats!) You also get three brushes to define, curl, and volumize.  The brushes are interchangeable, but only 1 can live in the mascara. The other two have their own containers for storing. Read more

UNII PALETTE

If you’re like me and most of my girlfriends, your makeup bag is overflowing and when it comes time to travel, you have to empty out most of your eye shadow options just to get the bag shut. Sound familiar?

I have eye shadow palettes that I carry around with me all the time, but let’s be real. I’ll usually only use one shade out of the 6 there. It’s a problem in the world of makeup that needed solving. The solution  for all of this clutter has arrived and it’s cute to boot! UNII Cosmetics has introduced the clutter free UNII Palette! It’s an innovative, reusable, super-chic makeup case that eliminates all of the clutter that comes along with having handfuls of makeup palettes. The UNII Palette allows you to consolidate all of your favorite makeup into one multi-brand palette. It’s as customizable as you want it to be and refillable whenever you desire! You can take a blush tin from here and an eye shadow from there, pop them out of there compacts and create your own palette of favorites all in one case. Spring Makeup Tips: Neutral Eyes, Cheeks with a Pop of Color

So now that spring has officially sprung and the snow is fading, I’m finally starting to leave my house! Whew! When I am just heading out to run errands I like to choose a look that is quick, easy, but spring pretty. It only comes around once a year so I had better take advantage while I can!

My easy face look is a BB Cream and my personal favorite right now is from SKIN79. I also need a concealer but if you’re lucky enough to not, then congratulations. I have been using my Maybelline Age Rewind under my eyes in the shade Brightener. For dark spots or blemishes I used my Sheer Cover Duo Concealer. Read more
