Believe it or not, a blogger’s makeup bag is not always overflowing with products when we travel. Most of us have a handful of products we are loyal to simply because they get the job done while home or away.
I recently spent some time in Atlantic City and asked fellow bloggers Kelly Augustine from www.KellyAugustine.com and Lyuba from www.WillCookForSmiles.com what their must have beauty products were while traveling. Watch the video to hear about our favorite beauty products and then find the links to all of them below: Read more

As an avid lip gloss fan, I’m not so fanatical of the sometimes messy or tacky application. I do so love the smooth texture and shine, though.
Popular beauty store, Ricky’s NYC, has pretty lip gloss in a crayon that still provides the hydrating texture and shine I adore without any mess or fuss. At first look I was a little nervous about the colors since I am super fair skinned and all, but they do not apply dark at all. They provide more of a sheer look with a pretty pop of color to your lips. Read more
If you read my Urban Decay Naked 3 eye shadow palette review, you could probably tell that I’m pretty much obsessed with UD’s Naked line. My passion for their eye shadows drove me to hunt down the new Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss ($20) the moment it was available. No really, I literally called around to every Sephora and Ulta within an hour’s drive to see if they had any in yet. My local Sephora had just gotten a few in and they weren’t even on display yet. I LOVE brands that stand for something beautiful, the type of beauty that envelopes the essence of love, joy, and hope. The kind that gives and quietly supports the unspoken interdependence we each need at some level in our lives.
When I look to review a brand I not only want to know how the product will work for the caregiver and busy woman, I want to know what the brand stands for, and if they will multiply the blessing of success to pass it on to others. In other words, what are they doing with what they have to produce positive community impact? Read more
I tend to wear more lip gloss in the cooler months than I do lipstick, simply because gloss can give me some extra hydration versus a lipstick that may dry them out. Burke Williams, a day spa with 9 locations across northern and southern California, has a fantastic spa gloss that is part of their H2V Skin Care line.
Art+Science=Beauty. This is the philosophy behind Burke Williams innovative H2V Skin Care line. By combining botanical and herbal ingredients with tested and proven scientific ingredients, a team of experienced estheticians, scientists and top industry professionals have created an effective and results-oriented line of products designed to repair and enhance skin, bringing natural beauty to the surface. I love wearing pink lip color. Bright, natural, glossy, matte…it doesn’t matter, I just love different shades and textures of pink lip color. I just wish pink lip color loved me back that easily.
Finding a pink lip color that works on darker skin tones is not always a simple process. Even with help, I have ended up going home with shades of pinks that looked ashy, clownish, like I had a weird mouth disease or like I was on death’s door. So after trying a ton of different shades and textures of pink lip color, I thought I would share my favorites just in case you have a similar skin tone and face similar issues. Read more
Wondering which lip colors are on trend this Fall? Some of the top beauty bloggers (yes, including me!) decided to get on camera and dish about their favorites.
Yes, that’s me standing in the woods! And how can you not be distracted watching Clumps of Mascara’s gorgeous daughter trying to snag her lip gloss?
Everyone has some great lip color picks! My favorite lip color for Fall is Three Custom Color’s Lip Gloss Pot in Simply Beautiful. It looks brown-ish in the pot, but I assure you that it’s a neutral color and looks great on all skin tones. I apply with a lip brush and you only need a small amount to make your lips pop. Three Custom also sells this color in a lipstick, gloss and even as a cream blush.
Watch the video below and a big thank you to Phyrra for putting this together!
Red has always been a classic you can’t go wrong with, but this Fall 2013, red is all the rage. Neiman Marcus is painting red as the new neutral for clothing , and the LA Times is talking about how, “this Fall’s bold new lipstick shades put the pout back into your pose.” Despite red lipstick’s sultry yet elegant look, most women think they simply can’t wear red and that’s not true.
Hollywood Red Lip Palette from Skinn Cosmetics is a fantastic buy because is gives you your choice of six different red hues that you can wear alone or mix and match to produce your favorite fit. It’s moisture rich and contains collagen-boosting peptides that help your lips appear full and lustrous. With so many different reds to choose from, there’s at least one that suits your skin tone.
