Bloggers’ Must Have Beauty Products When Traveling

Bloggers' Must-Have #Beauty Products While Traveling

Believe it or not, a blogger’s makeup bag is not always overflowing with products when we travel. Most of us have a handful of products we are loyal to simply because they get the job done while home or away.

I recently spent some time in Atlantic City and asked fellow bloggers Kelly Augustine from www.KellyAugustine.com and Lyuba from www.WillCookForSmiles.com what their must have beauty products were while traveling. Watch the video to hear about our favorite beauty products and then find the links to all of them below: Read more

Michelle Williams Say Yes Makeup by DeeDee Kelly

Michelle Williams Say Yes Video Makeup. Details from her makeup artist, DeeDee Kelly! #makeup #Makeuptips

Michelle Williams is back with her new album, Journey to Freedom (now available for pre-order.) Good Morning America dubbed it as a “personal journey,” however my personal opinion is that it is more of a spiritual journey. On the debut track, Say Yes, Queen Bey and Kelly Rowland are featured and I am so stoked for a Christian song to go mainstream.

Michelle looks AMAZING and that meant I needed all the details on what makeup was used for the video as well as the look the makeup artist wanted Michelle to evoke. Thanks to the Indian Tyler’s Beyond the Vanity show on LA Talk Live, I discovered celebrity makeup artist DeeDee Kelly who did Michelle’s makeup for the LA portion of the video filming. Read more

Spring’s hottest color in beauty, Radiant Orchid, is hands down one of my favorite beauty trends in YEARS. I’ve been wearing purple hues since I was first allowed to wear makeup (of course it wasn’t as chic back then and very 80′s.)

Below are my top ten for this season and I’d love to know if they are yours too! Read more

Red Lipstick for Fair Skin

Great red lipstick for fair skin! #beauty #makeup

Like many of you, I always thought red lipstick was something only few women could pull off. Until I got my hands on Avon’s Reddy for Me, I had no idea that red could be so welcoming to my lips…and my fair skin.

Once I finally mastered understanding which type of red would work best with my fair skin, that’s when my eyes began to spot reds that would give me that pow! As seen on figure skating Olympian, Ashley Wagner, CoverGirl’s Hot Passion is another one I am adding to my collection. It’s a gorgeous, bright red. Read more

I’ve long desired to know what women in other countries and cultures use as their product staples and we asked Amanda to tell us all about her discoveries!

Does Best: Brightening the Eyes with Kohl.

Product: Al Sharifan Kohl Kajal Eyeliner.  I was first introduced to kohl eye powder over twenty years ago in Morocco where women would make their own from oil and herbs. This one is one of the oldest around. You apply it to the waterline of your eyes both top and bottom to brighten  and define your eyes. It’s a super dark black, powdery kohl that is also believed to protect eyes from the sun (especially in the desert where it gets its origins) and helps smooth and cool them. Read more

I Found the Perfect Red Lip Color

The Perfect Red Lip

Never did I thought I would see that day when I would be able to say I’m wearing red lip color. Friends would tell me, “Try this one, it’s best!” or “This type of red is more your color,” only to be greatly disappointed. I began to think red just wasn’t for me and would instead would be green with envy over those who could pull it off.

I’m just too pale, it brings out the ruddiness in my skin, it makes me look like a clown… believe me, I’ve given every excuse there is. Until AVON sent me their newest lip crayon for Fall. In two words: holy crap. Read more

Shades of Pink That Work For Dark Skin Tones

The Perfect Pink Lip Colors for Dark Skin Tones

I love wearing pink lip color. Bright, natural, glossy, matte…it doesn’t matter, I just love different shades and textures of pink lip color. I just wish pink lip color loved me back that easily.

Finding a pink lip color that works on darker skin tones is not always a simple process.  Even with help, I have ended up going home with shades of pinks that looked ashy, clownish, like I had a weird mouth disease or like I was on death’s door.  So after trying a ton of different shades and textures of pink lip color, I thought I would share my favorites just in case you have a similar skin tone and face similar issues. Beauty Blogger’s Favorite Fall Lip Colors

Wondering which lip colors are on trend this Fall? Some of the top beauty bloggers (yes, including me!) decided to get on camera and dish about their favorites.

Beauty Blogger's Favorite Fall Lip Colors

Beauty Blogger's Favorite Fall Lip Colors 2013Yes, that’s me standing in the woods! And how can you not be distracted watching Clumps of Mascara’s gorgeous daughter trying to snag her lip gloss?

Everyone has some great lip color picks! My favorite lip color for Fall is Three Custom Color’s Lip Gloss Pot in Simply Beautiful. It looks brown-ish in the pot, but I assure you that it’s a neutral color and looks great on all skin tones. I apply with a lip brush and you only need a small amount to make your lips pop. Three Custom also sells this color in a lipstick, gloss and even as a cream blush.

Watch the video below and a big thank you to Phyrra for putting this together!

Becca Ultimate Matte Lip Colour Review

becca-cosmetics-ultimate-matte-lip-colour-ANTOINETTEOnce Fall decides to make her debut, I start to get very excited about fall makeup.  I prefer  a more polished, sophisticated  makeup look for fall and winter.  I love a bold, almost vampy lip, smoky eyes and more defined cheekbones.  Even before summer came to what seemed like a too abrupt end, I was lusting after a matte, wine colored lip for fall.  I pictured all of the outfit and hairstyle possibilities that my matte, wine colored lip would present.  I just knew that once I found that perfect matte wine colored lipstick I would be officially ready for fall.

The process of experimenting with different shades of lipsticks was fun…and at times absolutely hilarious.  I think I visited Sephora four times in one week, each time trying a few different shades of wine colored lipsticks, of course this process would have probably been much faster if there weren’t so many other fun distractions at Sephora, but when in Rome… Read more

Red Beauty Trend: The New Neutral

Red lip palette. Red beauty trend.

Red has always been a classic you can’t go wrong with, but this Fall 2013, red is all the rage. Neiman Marcus is painting red as the new neutral for clothing , and the LA Times is talking about how, “this Fall’s bold new lipstick shades put the pout back into your pose.” Despite red lipstick’s sultry yet elegant look, most women think they simply can’t wear red and that’s not true.

Hollywood Red Lip Palette from Skinn Cosmetics is a fantastic buy because is gives you your choice of six different red hues that you can wear alone or mix and match to produce your favorite fit. It’s moisture rich and contains collagen-boosting peptides that help your lips appear full and lustrous. With so many different reds to choose from, there’s at least one that suits your skin tone.
