La Fresh hello Eco-Beauty Lip Treat Review

In the summer, the last thing I want to do is to apply any sort of sticky or gooey product to my lips.  I am a lip gloss fanatic, but even the lightest gloss is too much product for me when it's sweltering.  I will usually just opt for Read more

DIY Cooling Cucumber Mask

DIY Cooling Cucumber Mask #beauty via @agirlsgottaspa
During my two month stay in Bali, a significant amount of time was spent at Amo Spa in Seminyak.  I enjoyed the most amazing spa treatments that I’ve every experienced and though I have only been back in the US for a week, I am going through serious Amo Spa treatments withdrawal.  I figured the best cure for my withdrawal symptoms was to try to recreate one of my favorite Amo Spa moments at home.

One of the many things I loved about Amo Spa was the little luxuries that they took the time to incorporate into their treatments.  One such luxury was the cucumber mask that was always applied to my face during a facial, massage and body scrub.  The cucumber mask consisted of thinly sliced cucumbers sliced lengthwise (not rounds) and left in the refrigerator to cool, then applied directly to the face.  In hot and humid Bali, this cucumber mask was an absolute dream. SolScents Sunscreen Review

SolScents Sunscreen #review #sunscare #sunprotection

I absolutely love trying new sunscreens! My ongoing battle with Melanoma has forced me to love sunscreen and I can safely say I’ve tried mostly every sunscreen that’s out there. While I don’t have a problem with the way sunscreen usually smells, I was excited to learn that there’s a sunscreen that smells as good as my scented body lotions!

For those that don’t like the scent of your average sunscreen, with SolScents ($14.95) you don’t have any excuses not to protect your skin from the sun. This is probably the most exciting sunscreen I’ve tried because the scents are fun, girly, made really well … and don’t really FEEL like a traditional sunscreen. As SolScents says, it’s “brightly scented sun care.” Read more

Cellulite Removal Treatment

Cellulite Removal Treatment - details on what's involved! #beauty

What is Cellulite?

Millions of people around the world deal with the skin condition known as cellulite. If you are unfamiliar, cellulite is the bumpy, unattractive skin that is commonly seen in the thighs, buttocks, and hips. It is a structural issue within the skin that occurs when pockets of fat cells are entrapped by unnecessary connective tissue bands. These pockets of fat then bulge out of the skin, creating that bumpy, uneven appearance. This condition is most common in women and is often influenced by factors such as: aging, genetics, and poor blood circulation. This condition can lower self-esteem due to the presence grotesque looking skin. Thanks to revolutionary treatments like Venus Freeze, cellulite does not have to plague your skin for life. Read more

Infrared Sauna Benefits

Infrared Sauna Benefits #detox

Trying to convince my fiancé to go to the spa with me is usually a pretty hopeless undertaking, so imagine my absolute surprise and excitement when he actually suggested that we go to the spa together for a treatment.  That excitement might have decreased a little when he made it clear the “treatment” he wanted us to experience together was sitting in an infrared sauna…at least we would be sitting together in a spa…it was a start.

Perhaps sitting in an infrared sauna, sweating for 40 minutes does not sound very appealing, especially given the fact that its been about 90 degrees everyday in Bali for the last two months and I feel like I sweat plenty on a daily basis.  Little did I know that the infrared sauna benefits are amazing and an very effective way to detox. How To Dry Brush Skin – Dry Brushing Spa Treatment in Bali

Dry brush your skin. Learn the benefits in our post! #skincare #spa #health #wellness

A few days ago I had the pleasure of experiencing yet another amazing spa treatment in Bali.  This time it was an absolutely sinful massage that included hot stones, cool slices of cucumbers and warm lavender towels at my beloved Amo Spa.  While the massage was absolutely incredible, what impressed me even more was the Full Body Dry Brushing pre-treatment that was was offered as an add-on to my massage.  I was completely unfamiliar with dry skin brushing, so of course I HAD to try it. Bloggers’ Must Have Beauty Products When Traveling

Bloggers' Must-Have #Beauty Products While Traveling

Believe it or not, a blogger’s makeup bag is not always overflowing with products when we travel. Most of us have a handful of products we are loyal to simply because they get the job done while home or away.

I recently spent some time in Atlantic City and asked fellow bloggers Kelly Augustine from www.KellyAugustine.com and Lyuba from www.WillCookForSmiles.com what their must have beauty products were while traveling. Watch the video to hear about our favorite beauty products and then find the links to all of them below: Read more

Botox Does More Than You Think

Botox does more than you think (not just for wrinkles anymore!) #beauty #health

Since 2000, yearly neuromodulator procedures, such as Botox, Xeomin and Dysport, in the U.S. have increased by 800%, with over 6 million procedures performed in 2013. So what exactly does this popular procedure do?

These neurotoxin procedures are typically viewed as a cosmetic minimally-invasive procedure that removes lines and wrinkles from the skin. They work by injecting a small dosage of neurotoxin into the skin of the targeted area. Once introduced, the neuromodulator temporarily paralyzes local muscles by preventing nerve cells from receiving signals. Ultimately, this is what causes the overlying skin to become freshened and wrinkle-free. Amazingly, these subtances not only keep skin looking young and fresh, but can actually provide many other health benefits. Read more

The warm weather can tempt us to stay out longer and have a few more drinks than usual. Unfortunately, late nights combined with alcohol can take a toll on your skin and leave some obvious indicators. Josie Feria, Director of Operations at Lapis Spa at Fontainebleau Miami Beach, is all-too familiar with customers who are drawn to Miami for its fabulous nightlife with parties that don’t end until the sun rises.

See below for some tips that Josie practices at Lapis Spa and recommends you do at home to revitalize your skin after a night out. Read more

DermOrganic Pure Argan Oil Review

DermOrganic Pure Argan Oil #Review #skincare

Skin Care Myth: Oily skin should avoid oils in skin care products.

Skin Care Fact: Not all oils are “bad” or pore-clogging.

My skin has always been oily since as far back as I can remember. It’s only in the last several months that it is now both oily and dry. How can that be? It seems my maturing skin wants to be oily in my T-zone, but have dry patches on my cheeks and along my brows (brows are another story all together!) Do you have the same skin care issue? I’m not one to constantly change up my skin care routine, but obviously what I have been doing is no longer working for my changing skin. Read more
