This luxury facial cleanser makes skin feel amazing!
I’ve been using Reflekt Skincare for the last 6 weeks about 2-3 times per week. In the summer, a regular cleanser alone won’t do the trick to thoroughly rid my skin of all the “gunk” that warmer weather brings when wearing makeup, sunscreen, etc. Read more
In the skin department, Summer usually means oilier than normal skin for me.
Which also means clogged pores, and at times, acne prone skin accompanied by dehydrated and irritated skin thanks to time spent in the sun and insane amounts of sunscreen.
One of the best ways that I deal with summer skin issues is by relying pretty heavily on face masks. For me, it’s just easier to introduce face masks intended to treat my particular skin woes than to change my entire skincare routine; plus masks always makes an at-home facial feel incredibly indulgent. Bacne. Something that is often dreaded when the warmer weather hits and you want to ditch the layers.
While I personally haven’t experience body acne, I do have keratosis pilaris on my arms and legs, so I know the feeling of having a skin condition I want to clear up and am often embarrassed by.
There’s a lot of great body washes out there that can help diminish body acne without a prescription and without the uber drying effects of benzoyl peroxide. While that’s an effective ingredient, it just creates a secondary issue for you to have to deal with – dry, flaky skin. No thanks!
Here are 4 body washes that we’ve found work best on body acne (and smell great too!) Read more

Expert Tip: “To prevent breakouts in the summer, use oil-free moisturizer. During the hotter months skin’s natural oil combined with oil-free moisturizer is enough to keep skin well-hydrated. This trick will also help prevent skin from looking too shiny in the summer.” –Alina Cimpoeru, lead esthetician at The Guerlain Spa Read more
I love mud masks for my combination skin.
Seriously, having an oily t-zone makes your skin feel so dirty already, so why not get messy and clean it up with a little mud?
I’ve had the chance to try out ClarityRx Rehab Mediterranean Detoxifying Mud Mask for about a month now and my skin is feeling amazing. Read more
Do you have oily or combination skin? You may want to consider incorporating charcoal into your skin care regimen.
Sure, charcoal is totally on trend right now and may seem like a fad, but it’s for good reason. Charcoal absorbs oil and draws out toxins and bacteria from the skin.
Those of us with this skin type know that excess oil leads to clogged pores, which leads to blemishes. Bacteria, transferred by way of constantly touching your face or even tampering with those blemishes, only leads to more blemishes. It’s a vicious cycle my friends.
I decided to give a few charcoal products a try (and my teen son’s were also game to clear up their acne.)
These are the current charcoal skin care products in my shower right now: Read more

Who can resist Paula’s Choice?
Sorry, I couldn’t help but make that joke, although I have to say that now that I’ve tried this skin care line, I’m pretty much hooked.
Prior to this review, I hadn’t tried any of Paula’s Choice skin care, although I am very much aware of Paula Begoun, the founder, as the Cosmetics Cop who is all about truth in beauty, skin care, ingredients and proven research. In fact, I had the chance to interview her when Beautypedia launched several years ago. Her website has a full encyclopedia of advice for every type of skin care concern. She is a wealth of information!
I am a true skin care junkie. I absolutely believe that it doesn’t matter how much contouring and concealing you do or how much makeup you wear – if your skin is a mess, there is no hiding that! Besides, the better you treat your skin, the less makeup you’ll have to invest in to fix your flaws. Read more
Blackheads. The bain of my existence.
I wish that when I was a teen that someone would’ve warned me about the future of my skin if I didn’t take care of it properly. But alas, here I am in my 40’s with large pores (especially on my nose) and blackheads as proof of my previous skin care sins.
With constantly clogged pores comes finding the right products that will neutralize them and keep my skin looking healthy.
5 of my blackhead banishing favorites right now include: Read more
This is a product-provided, sponsored conversation that contains affiliate links. I received the Infiniti Pro by Conair 3Q Styling Tool and the True Glow by Conair Sonic Skincare Solution for my own personal use. All opinions, text and experiences are my own.
It’s not really a secret that I have a love affair with Conair hair products. Over the years I have really loved (and religiously used) styling tools from their Infiniti line, and the latest hair dryer, the Infiniti Pro by Conair® 3Q™ Styling Tool, is no different.
3Q™ stands for “Quick, Quiet and Quality,” all of the hallmarks of this new brushless motor styling tool. It may not fit into the Q theme, but this dryer is also extremely light weight. I didn’t feel like I was giving my biceps a workout while drying my hair. I absolutely adore how much quieter this dryer is – their patent pending noise reduction technology makes it up to 40% quieter (which is a huge plus when you have a large family like I do and don’t want to wake anyone early in the a.m. or when you can only squeeze in a shower at 10pm after a long day of work and want to keep your beauties sleeping.)
