This past week I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Jules Chan of Dekko Salon in San Francisco. After having a baby and juggling a busy work schedule I had put off a much needed haircut. My hair had grown out most of its layers and was getting heavier and completely unruly. I have very straight, coarse Asian hair. Jules specializes in styling Asian hair (check out her blog on Asian hair) like mine and had many opinions on the best style and how add layers, body and movement without making the end result look choppy and uneven. It takes a gifted and knowledgeable stylist to create subtle layers and movement within a becoming style that suits my face. The cut turned out magnificent and my hair no longer pulls my head like a ton of bricks. Read more
As a mom I can tell you that I chip nail polish like nobody’s business. Not to mention working at my computer all day typing away at the keyboard. Not only was my nail polish chipping within a day of applying it, but my nails were always splitting and cracking. I ended up throwing in the towel. I gave up. No more nail polish for me. I have long awaited the day that Sephora would come to Northeast PA. Waited.with.baited.breath. So a few months ago while shopping in the Viewmont Mall at one of my favorite stores, JCPenney (love to buy A.N.A clothes there), I almost passed out when I saw the sign that read “Sephora–Coming Soon.” Hold onto your wallet, Shannon, hold onto your wallet.
I recently had the opportunity to stop by WINK Eyelash in New York City. If you remember, I met Su Thomas, one of the owners of WINK during Fashion Week at the NYFW Blogger Mixer. This place is amazing! And I think you will agree when you see the before and after pictures that they did an incredible job on my lashes!
Check them out at www.winkeyelash.com. They are located at 128 W. 36th Street in New York City. And be sure to let them know you heard about them here!
