I asked fellow beauty blogger and fellow Pennsylvanian, A Little Polish to create a tutorial just for A Girl's Gotta Spa! readers. If you're looking for some simple abstract floral nail art, here’s a tutorial to Read more

When we're young, we take our flawless skin for granted, never considering that what we do early on will affect us when we're older. We try to rush things, like wearing makeup (and always forgetting to take it off), skip things like sunscreen and make poor choices like smoking. Read more

Best Body Lotions

The best body lotions are the kind that leave your skin feeling soft and hydrated, not just for hours, but for days at a time. I am incredibly picky when it comes to my beauty products, and when it comes to body lotion, I need something that delivers. Here's a Read more

Favorite Black Eyeliners

There's something that a black eyeliner conveys that brown or even brightly colored or metallic eyeliners can't duplicate. Black says bold, daring, classic, sexy. While there are times that I opt for brown or grey, a good black eyeliner is always my first choice. Some of my favorites include CoverGirl liquiline Read more

Davines No. 5 Mat Pliable Stucco

DavinesThis past week I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Jules Chan of Dekko Salon in San Francisco. After having a baby and juggling a busy work schedule I had put off a much needed haircut. My hair had grown out most of its layers and was getting heavier and completely unruly. I have very straight, coarse Asian hair. Jules specializes in styling Asian hair (check out her blog on Asian hair) like mine and had many opinions on the best style and how add layers, body and movement without making the end result look choppy and uneven. It takes a gifted and knowledgeable stylist to create subtle layers and movement within a becoming style that suits my face. The cut turned out magnificent and my hair no longer pulls my head like a ton of bricks. Read more

I had long heard my friend Michelle of All Lacquered Up talk about Zoya, but sometimes I have a tendency to read beauty reviews then get so busy that I forget all about a product. It’s a bad habit I need to break. So when Leo had the team at Zoya send me some polishes along with their Color Lock System, I was intrigued, but quite honestly expected my experience to be the same as with every other nail polish brand I had tried before.

Sephora Opens in Dickson City, PA

Sephora.com, Inc.I have long awaited the day that Sephora would come to Northeast PA. Waited.with.baited.breath. So a few months ago while shopping in the Viewmont Mall at one of my favorite stores, JCPenney (love to buy A.N.A clothes there), I almost passed out when I saw the sign that read “Sephora–Coming Soon.” Hold onto your wallet, Shannon, hold onto your wallet.

Check them out at www.winkeyelash.com. They are located at 128 W. 36th Street in New York City. And be sure to let them know you heard about them here!
