#EyeHeartNY Twitter Party 4/24 #ad

This summer I'll be 40. Wrinkles and fine lines know their way around my face like a road map. I wish what I know now about anti-aging, I knew 20 years ago so that I could take better care of my skin. However, since I can't literally turn back Read more

Beauty Benefits of Lime

It may sound silly, but even though I don't drink, those Corona commercials snag my attention every time. Sounds of the ocean, the sense of relaxation and the refreshing lime placed perfectly in the bottle neck. It's that lime that calls out to me saying, "Let me quench your Read more

Pictures from Cosmoprof North America 2009

As you know, at the end of July I had the privilege of speaking at Cosmoprof North America. It was my very first time going to Las Vegas and I was excited as a kid on Christmas! I arrived a few days before my scheduled speaking date, which by the way, I think went quite awesome; I spoke about social media for Private Label (many thanks to Private Label Magazine for that!) I met so many amazing people that it makes my head spin. The only person that I met that I didn’t get a picture with was Robyn Bloom, founder of Purely Cosmetics. I enjoyed our relentless quest in search of steak at 12am Robyn!

Here are some pictures from my time in Vegas–enjoy! Read more

Kissable Couture Glosses Inspired by Michelle Obama

kissablecouture1

Celebrity makeup stylist AJ Crimson and model/TV personality Keisha Whitaker (wife of actor/director Forest Whitaker) are the co-creators of a line of luxe lip-gloss, Kissable Couture. The glosses have high shine appeal with the perfect amount of shimmer as well as wearable moisturizing formula without the stickiness of most lip-gloss. Sold at stores including Fred Segal Apolthia, Louis Boston and Henri Bendel.

The collection of glosses includes a custom shade inspired by First Lady Michelle Obama, named aptly “First Lady” and part of the Kissable Collection. It is a nude gloss and is perfect for all complexions. We haven’t heard if the First Lady has tried the gloss, but we love the tribute to her. Our fave from the collection is the “Smooches” gift set. It’s a five-pack of mini glosses, which includes Kissable Couture’s best selling shades. Included in this pout’-of-this-world set are shades including Dreams, Johnny, Dylan, Honesty and Forest. The full sized glosses retail for $22 and the Kissable Couture Smooches gift set retails for $32.

Review: MAC Cosmetics Colour Craft

20090727-mac-cosmetics-natural-flare-eyeshadowMAC Cosmetics newest makeup collection, Colour Craft, is an amazing palette of fall color goodness. Actually, so many of the colors in their eye shadow palettes made me think of clothes with those same colors that I’d like to wear this autumn. By far, my favorite eye shadow palette is Natural Flare (pictured. ) I tend to stick with “safe” colors…ie. neutral colors.  But I do know that the copper and gold in this palette can do amazing things for your eyes, especially those of us with hazel eyes.

When I recently spoke at Cosmoprof North America, I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting Michael Reyzis aka “the mad scientist” behind The Art of Beauty, the brand known for Qtica and Zoya Nail Polish. I also got to meet their VP, Leo Reyzis, who is quite awesome by the way.  While there, I got to see their new nail polish collection for fall–Truth or Dare. Read more
