A little while back I put straightener in my hair while being distracted by Twitter. I completely ruined my hair. And while the Benjamin Daily Hydrator worked wonders on it, I decided I should have a salon professional help get my hair back to normal. That’s when I made my way to Davide Torchio Salon, where Davide himself deep conditioned my hair to help restore its natural lustre.
We’re often hearing about what the latest hairstyle for women will be with each season, which for obvious reasons, I pay attention to, but it had me wondering: What about hairstyles for men? To get that answer I went to Naz Kupelian, a 20 year veteran of the hair industry and owner of Naz Kupelian Salon in Lexington, Massachusetts. (Yes I am quite partial to New Englanders having grown up in Rhode Island!)
This past week I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Jules Chan of Dekko Salon in San Francisco. After having a baby and juggling a busy work schedule I had put off a much needed haircut. My hair had grown out most of its layers and was getting heavier and completely unruly. I have very straight, coarse Asian hair. It takes a gifted and knowledgeable stylist to create subtle layers and movement within a becoming style that suits my face. The cut turned out magnificent and my hair no longer pulls my head like a ton of bricks. Read more
As a mom I can tell you that I chip nail polish like nobody’s business. Not to mention working at my computer all day typing away at the keyboard. Not only was my nail polish chipping within a day of applying it, but my nails were always splitting and cracking. I ended up throwing in the towel. I gave up. No more nail polish for me. Until I met Leo and Michael Reyzis of Art of Beauty at Cosmoprof North America. (Art of Beauty is the parent company to Zoya Nail Polish and Qtica.)
I had long heard my friend Michelle of All Lacquered Up talk about Zoya, but sometimes I have a tendency to read beauty reviews then get so busy that I forget all about a product. It’s a bad habit I need to break. So when Leo had the team at Zoya send me some polishes along with their Color Lock System, I was intrigued, but quite honestly expected my experience to be the same as with every other nail polish brand I had tried before.
