When it comes to skin care, I am very picky with what I put on my face. Since there's no hiding imperfections should a reaction to a product happen, I always do my research on ingredients and check out my fellow beauty blogger reviews. One of my favorites types Read more
As much as I have enjoyed summer and am sad to see it come to an end, I was not enjoying how dehydrated my skin looked and felt thanks to a lot of time spent outdoors celebrating summer in all of her sunny glory. I want to welcome fall and all the Read more

I strongly believe that one should make time spent in the shower as relaxing and enjoyable as possible...even if it's one of those two minutes showers that seem to be occurring with more frequency as we are all continuously pressed for time.

As we say hello to fall and cooler weather wind and dry air can take a toll on your lips. I have tried many lip balms, from $25 a stick at the department store to 99-cent versions from the drugstore. I had also used the Burt’s Bees Beeswax lip balm, but I found the peppermint oil a bit strong. So I thought I’d give their Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil a try. And boy I’m glad I did! I love this lip balm and I haven’t had chapped lips since using it. I love the light fruity taste and the notion of the pomegranate oil working its antioxidant magic to keep my lips smooth is a plus. There has been alot of buzz around pomegranate and its health benefits. The juice, extract and oil from the seed of the fruit, are rich in anti-oxidants that fight free radicals. Pomegranate oil contains punicic acid that is an Omega 5 conjugated fatty acid used to replenish moisture.
For months now I have been receiving pitches from beauty brands and PR firms far and wide about which beauty products will be donating some or all of their proceeds to breast cancer charities. Most beauty magazines and beauty blogs have already started posting about them. And sure last year I went to Estee Lauder’s office in Manhattan for the BCRF kickoff (and it was a great experience.) And I was a part of Total Beauty’s “Total Beauty Total Cure” last year as well. Here locally, I’ve even organized vendor fairs to raise money for the American Cancer Society (and proud to have raised $3K for them. Although I have since learned they are rated F in Charity Watch.)
But this year I thought to myself…if I want to support a breast cancer charity and research, why do I have to buy lipstick to do so?
About a year ago MAC Cosmetics debuted its Volcanic Ash Exfoliator. It was love at first sight. I milked that puppy for so long because I just never wanted to run out. The downside was the packaging, which MAC has now remedied by revamping it in their Style Black collection in a tube (it was previously in a jar.) In addition, they’ve debuted their limited edition Volcanic Ash Thermal Mask. It’s been getting quite the buzz among my beauty friends and for good reason.
