I admit, I only jumped on the Adam Lambert bandwagon a few episodes shy of the end of American Idol last season. I remember it was the episode where he looked like a young Chris Isaac. For some reason Adam made guyliner hot. And after finally caving in and getting his CD this weekend, it’s obvious that Glambert has some serious love for makeup as inspired by his 80’s glam predecessors (Poison, Warrant, Dokken–oh yeah I know them all because I was quite the pseudo-metal head.)
So if I were given the magical ability to be Adam Lambert for one day, here’s the beauty products I’d be sporting:Â Read more
I am a big fan of clay masks, as evidenced by previous posts (see inSpa Pore Purifying Masque; Chella Balancing Clay Mask; PCA pHaze9 ) so when I received a sample of Mario Badescu’s Cucumber Tonic Mask, I was pretty excited to try something from this well respected skin care line (I love the Drying Lotion.) Wow, what a year in beauty. This is honestly my most favorite post each year, yet I procrastinate like crazy to write it. This year A Girl’s Gotta Spa! Beauty Blog saw the addition of the very handsome and funny Nando, who handles the men’s grooming reviews and vlogs. So this Best of 2009 recap includes both men’s and women’s beauty products and a mix of text and video. Did you have a favorite product you saw reviewed here this year? Be sure to let us know at the end of this post.

I am hoping Santa will treat me to some luxurious beauty products this year. In my stocking I’m hoping to find a jar of Philip B. Russian Amber Shampoo (12 oz., $140.00 at Beauty Habit). This jar may be small, but it packs a powerful punch of hydrating power for winter weary hair. The harsh cold winter weather can wreak havoc on your hair due to the lack of moisture in the air. Not to mention the wind and indoor air. This Russian inspired formula includes a blend of of Chamomile, Grape Seed, Rosemary, Nettle, Burdock and Sage to condition damaged hair with emollients with a renewed and healthy glow. To improve elasticity protectants including silk, wheat and soy proteins help to build strength to the hair shaft. To add sheen and bounce shea butter tops off the mixture for a feeling of weightless, silky and beautiful hair. The most extraordinary thing about this product is the luxurious and rich scent of amber oil. Read more
