I recently stumbled upon a fairly new skin care line by Nancy Elle. It’s is one that is organic and free of synthetics and is a great alternative for those looking for a healthier way to cleanse and nourish their skin. She offers 3 distinct lines: Active Vitamin C, Sweet Berry and Triple Rose Complex. I had the opportunity to try out two products from the Sweet Berry line; the Exfoliating Cleansing Creme & Facial Mask and the Exfoliating Toner. (I did have the Overnight Night Creme, but unfortunately glass jars go *splat* in my house.)

What I love most about Philosophy’s Cinnamon Hot Dot’s Shampoo/Shower Gel/Bubble Bath is that is smells like Red Hots Candy. Exactly.
And Red Hots bring back great memories…
It was the summer before 9th grade. I lived in a bathing suit, hung out at the swim park, and ate hard candy everyday. It was an absolutely delicious summer. Candy, sunshine and innocent first kisses. My friends and I played shuffle-board and sucked on lemon drops, while the older boys played ping-pong and ate Red Hots. We explored what it meant to flirt as middle schoolers, but discovered it quite awkward, and so instead we spent the majority of our time psycho-analyzing the opposite sex.
In between rounds of sunbathing, splashing in the lake, and pretending to play shuffle board, we stared at the tanned testosterone gathered behind the ping pong tables and came up with a theory: If a boy offered us a Red Hot, it meant they thought we were hot. Maybe they hadn’t admitted to their friends yet, or maybe they didn’t even know it themselves yet, but subconsciously it had to be true. It was a promising sign, at least.

I have a new morning routine:
I get up before either my son or my man stirs and walk out into the den with Yoga mat, sports bra and ipod in hand.
I do 20 minutes of Sun Salutations and concentrate only on my breath and the feeling that I am truly a goddess or a rock star…or both.
I put off mentally listing the day’s “To-Do’s” until I am in the shower and can think with clarity as I sud up.
I owe this refreshing new sense of mental clarity in part to yoga and in part to Crabtree & Evelyn’s line of Aromatherapy Distillations.
Since aromatheraphy is known to enhance well-being, I knew it would be a great thing to incorporate into my daily routine.
