Lighten Dark Spots with Dermalogica PowerBright Trx Trio

I'm paying for the skin sins of my youth in hyperpigmentation and an abundance of dark spots from both acne and lack of sunscreen usage. Over the years I've learned how to best conceal them with makeup in order to fake a great complexion. However, when the makeup comes Read more

Subtle Green Customizable Skin Care

Subtle Green, a Montreal-based luxury skin care company, recently caught my attention. Much of what they stand for is something I have been saying for years - "The best moisturizers do not have to contain 'miracle ingredients' developed using 'breakthrough technologies' in a remote secret laboratory." There are tried Read more

With the busiest season of the year upon us, sometimes caring for ourselves (and our skin) sadly ends up at the bottom of the to-do list. (Please don't let it.) Davines No. 5 Mat Pliable Stucco

DavinesThis past week I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Jules Chan of Dekko Salon in San Francisco. After having a baby and juggling a busy work schedule I had put off a much needed haircut. My hair had grown out most of its layers and was getting heavier and completely unruly. I have very straight, coarse Asian hair. Jules specializes in styling Asian hair (check out her blog on Asian hair) like mine and had many opinions on the best style and how add layers, body and movement without making the end result look choppy and uneven. It takes a gifted and knowledgeable stylist to create subtle layers and movement within a becoming style that suits my face. The cut turned out magnificent and my hair no longer pulls my head like a ton of bricks. Read more

Review: Zoya Nail Polish Color Lock System

Zoya_ColorLock_Bag_webAs a mom I can tell you that I chip nail polish like nobody’s business. Not to mention working at my computer all day typing away at the keyboard. Not only was my nail polish chipping within a day of applying it, but my nails were always splitting and cracking. I ended up throwing in the towel. I gave up. No more nail polish for me. Until I met Leo and Michael Reyzis of Art of Beauty at Cosmoprof North America. (Art of Beauty is the parent company to Zoya Nail Polish and Qtica.)

I had long heard my friend Michelle of All Lacquered Up talk about Zoya, but sometimes I have a tendency to read beauty reviews then get so busy that I forget all about a product. It’s a bad habit I need to break. So when Leo had the team at Zoya send me some polishes along with their Color Lock System, I was intrigued, but quite honestly expected my experience to be the same as with every other nail polish brand I had tried before.

Boy was I wrongRead more

Sephora Opens in Dickson City, PA

Sephora.com, Inc.I have long awaited the day that Sephora would come to Northeast PA. Waited.with.baited.breath. So a few months ago while shopping in the Viewmont Mall at one of my favorite stores, JCPenney (love to buy A.N.A clothes there), I almost passed out when I saw the sign that read “Sephora–Coming Soon.” Hold onto your wallet, Shannon, hold onto your wallet.

Longer, Fuller Lashes with Extensions at WINK Eyelash

I recently had the opportunity to stop by WINK Eyelash in New York City. If you remember, I met Su Thomas, one of the owners of WINK during Fashion Week at the NYFW Blogger Mixer. This place is amazing! And I think you will agree when you see the before and after pictures that they did an incredible job on my lashes!

Check them out at www.winkeyelash.com. They are located at 128 W. 36th Street in New York City. And be sure to let them know you heard about them here!
