Great looking skin is something that happens to be one part hereditary in my family and one part a faithful skin care routine. Growing up I always noticed how young my great-grandmother, grandmother and mother’s skin looked. My great-grandmother lived to be 99 and when she passed, she looked no older than about 80. My grandmother is in her late 70′s, but I promise, you would never know it. From a very early age, they all faithfully took care of their skin and it paid off. I learned from them that taking care of your skin is important and really the key to looking youthful. I.e. see a picture of me here, do I really look like I will be 35 this year? Sundari’s Gotu Kola and Indian Asparagus Mask is one great skin care product for those of us with aging skin and as I mentioned in my Beauty Ingredients Forecast for 2009, Ayurveda and products associated with it, are really taking off here in the states.

If there is one thing you should not wait until Spring for–it’s making sure your feet are in tip top shape for those sandals when this snow melts away (and it will eventually melt away, right?!) Besides, who likes snagging their flannel sheets with their dry, cracked heels? So I found a completely delish heel treatment from Farmhouse Fresh that’s going to create perfectly soft, hydrated feet exist everywhere thanks to their Honey Heel Glaze ($24).

We all know there is a right way and wrong way to self tan, as evidenced by those Sunkist-orange type ladies we often giggle to ourselves about. So why not get some tips from someone who created a self tanning brand herself? Dera Enochson, tanning Expert and creator of the Xen-Tan self-tanning collection, is sharing her tips on creating the perfect, natural looking self-tan with product recommendations to boot.

Who else is ready for winter to be over? Raise your hand. I mean seriously. I’m pretty sure that the Punxsutawney tourism board and the groundhog are in cahoots together. But at least while we still have 6 weeks of winter left, there are some great moisturizers out there to keep our skin hydrated and looking fabulous despite the harsh winter weather. The latest moisturizer in my bathroom is Chanin Richel’s Shea Body Butter in Oatmeal Milk and Honey.
