A Girl's Gotta Spa! Leaping Bunny Certified as Cruelty Free

Something I've learned in my 8+ years of beauty blogging, is that many brands like to say they are something without any proof to back it. Brands say they are natural, but the ingredient label tells a different story. Brands say they are organic because they assume you won't Read more

#Eyes4NYC Twitter Party 4/24 #ad

This summer I'll be 40. Wrinkles and fine lines know their way around my face like a road map. I wish what I know now about anti-aging, I knew 20 years ago so that I could take better care of my skin. However, since I can't literally turn back Read more

Beauty Benefits of Lime

It may sound silly, but even though I don't drink, those Corona commercials snag my attention every time. Sounds of the ocean, the sense of relaxation and the refreshing lime placed perfectly in the bottle neck. It's that lime that calls out to me saying, "Let me quench your Read more

Pearson Knight’s Favorite Hair Trends from Fashion Week

pearson_knight

If you don’t know who Pearson Knight is, you should. He could be found at a number of runway shows this past fashion week styling hair for some of the best designers of the Fall/Winter 2009 season. If his boyish good looks don’t rope you in (because seriously ladies, look at him!), then his eye for detail and his talent to make a complicated hairstyle look effortless, will. As a Master Stylist at Juut Salonspa in Downtown Minneapolis, it’s Pearson’s ability to have each customer leaving his chair raving about his transformative hands that has him on the short list of great talents in hair.  I asked Pearson if he would share with you some of his favorite looks from this past New York Fashion Week. Here’s what he had to say…

Review: Solavie Face Wash and Face Nourish

solavie_mountains_skin_careMy friend Renee Rouleau taught me that there are 9 different skin types. And now Solavie has shown me that the key to good skin care is also about taking your environment into consideration. I live high up in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania where the weather can do a number on your skin. So much different than when I lived near the city of Philadelphia or near the ocean waters of Rhode Island. Solvaie has 6 different skin care systems: Mountains, Urban, Tropics, Shore, Plains and Desert. All different enviro-types that we can identify with based on location.

Jennifer Aniston’s $50,000 Hair

jennifer_anistonJennifer Aniston recently spent $50,000 to have her personal hair stylist with her during her recent press trip abroad for Marley & Me. I feel like SNL’s “OMG! Are you serious? Really!” is very appropriate right about now. Especially when all of us average Americans are struggling our pants off to keep a roof over our heads.

Jennifer Aniston doesn’t know how to use a hair dryer. OMG! Are you serious? Really?!
Jennifer Aniston seems to have forgotten that she only parts her hair down the middle with equal amounts of hair on each side. OMG! Are you serious? Really?!
Jennifer Aniston is dating John Mayer when he belongs to me. OMG! Are you serious? Really?! (Ok I threw that one in for good measure.)

But really, $50,000 could do a lot of good for any given charity right about now. What do you think when a celebrity drops cash like this without batting an eye?
