I'm paying for the skin sins of my youth in hyperpigmentation and an abundance of dark spots from both acne and lack of sunscreen usage. Over the years I've learned how to best conceal them with makeup in order to fake a great complexion. However, when the makeup comes Read more
Candy canes may be great for stuffing stockings, adorning trees, or a sweet snack, but the minty holiday staple can also be incorporated into your beauty routine. Peppermint oil contains minerals and nutrients including iron, calcium, omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A and C, and is soothing to the Read more
Subtle Green, a Montreal-based luxury skin care company, recently caught my attention. Much of what they stand for is something I have been saying for years - "The best moisturizers do not have to contain 'miracle ingredients' developed using 'breakthrough technologies' in a remote secret laboratory." There are tried Read more

With the busiest season of the year upon us, sometimes caring for ourselves (and our skin) sadly ends up at the bottom of the to-do list. (Please don't let it.)
Fortunately, facialist Cecilia Wong has designed a seasonal at-home, DIY facial scrub that requires little time and effort, which can Read more
It is Fashion Week my beauties! And Aveda has passed on their first report from backstage at John Patrick Organic. One of my hair stylist friends (remember Pearson Knight?) is on the Aveda team and was backstage masterfully doing hair at this show. Although Lead Hair was Odile Gilbert and the Aveda Lead was Dennis Clendennen for this show. But I can still give kudos to my friend right? (Of course I can!)
The hair look for John Patrick Organic was a modern, playful take on Bohemian-chic. Hair was smooth and shiny on top with soft, free-flowing curls below the cheekbone and volume at the front—pulled back into a barrette, adding a girly touch.
Just a quick little update to make you aware of some other places you can find A Girl’s Gotta Spa! online.
Beauty Blog: Of course, the blog is where you can find reviews from myself and as you may have noticed, from some new beauty contributors as well. The very fabulous Nando heads up the men’s grooming video reviews, but will also be bringing you some great videos from New York Fashion Week (so stay tuned!) Zeke is our anonymous mystery blogger who also covers men’s grooming from time to time as well. Brittany, who happens to be my very adorable younger cousin, will be covering beauty reviews from a teen’s perspective. Then of course there is Morgan, a good friend with awesome photography skills who will also be doing beauty reviews on occasion. As always, my ultimate goal with the blog is to bring you relevant beauty reviews that you can relate to.
Twitter: If you haven’t already noticed, I am quite the chatter box! You can find me on Twitter tweeting about beauty products I am trying, talking with fellow beauty bloggers, beauty brands as well as celebrity makeup artists and hair stylists. It’s a great place for you to get to know me better, ask questions or hear about what I am working on.
You Tube: This is home to our video reviews and interviews. For right now, the videos hosted here are from Nando, but soon enough (ie. when I get up the guts) there will be videos from me, as well.
Facebook Fan Page: Hopefully if you are reading this beauty blog, you are a fan! So why not make it official by becoming a fan on Facebook too? Here I’ll post beauty discount codes, pictures of products that I may not necessarily review here on the blog, ask beauty questions, talk about seasonal makeup looks and show you some behind the scenes things going on here for the blog (such as the picture above of nail polish from Barielle.)Â It also gives you the opportunity to talk with other fans, too! (And I certainly love when you click that “Suggest to friends” link and share the page with your friends! *wink wink*)
I love connecting with you and hope to see you around the interwebs!
Philosophy’s Oatmeal Raisin shower gel not only smells great – just like fresh baked cookies from the oven, but it helps to clean your skin and keep it feeling extra soft. The three in one product serves as a shower gel, shampoo and bubble bath. If you are a fan of oatmeal raisin cookies then you will love this product. Besides, you can indulge in oatmeal raisin cookies, which are completely calorie free.
If you’ve used this product please be sure to comment here or directly on You Tube. All of my reviews are done via video, so please subscribe to A Girl’s Gotta Spa! You Tube channel to be alerted of new video reviews before they post here on the blog.
