#EyeHeartNY Twitter Party 4/24 #ad

This summer I'll be 40. Wrinkles and fine lines know their way around my face like a road map. I wish what I know now about anti-aging, I knew 20 years ago so that I could take better care of my skin. However, since I can't literally turn back Read more

Beauty Benefits of Lime

It may sound silly, but even though I don't drink, those Corona commercials snag my attention every time. Sounds of the ocean, the sense of relaxation and the refreshing lime placed perfectly in the bottle neck. It's that lime that calls out to me saying, "Let me quench your Read more

Jennifer Aniston’s $50,000 Hair

jennifer_anistonJennifer Aniston recently spent $50,000 to have her personal hair stylist with her during her recent press trip abroad for Marley & Me. I feel like SNL’s “OMG! Are you serious? Really!” is very appropriate right about now. Especially when all of us average Americans are struggling our pants off to keep a roof over our heads.

Jennifer Aniston doesn’t know how to use a hair dryer. OMG! Are you serious? Really?!
Jennifer Aniston seems to have forgotten that she only parts her hair down the middle with equal amounts of hair on each side. OMG! Are you serious? Really?!
Jennifer Aniston is dating John Mayer when he belongs to me. OMG! Are you serious? Really?! (Ok I threw that one in for good measure.)

But really, $50,000 could do a lot of good for any given charity right about now. What do you think when a celebrity drops cash like this without batting an eye?

Makeover with Top Hair Stylist Nick Arrojo

arrojo_studioEveryone who knows me knows that I heart Nick Arrojo. I even mentioned him as one of my dream hair stylist’s in a previous post. Like I mentioned in Travel Beauty, I like to be the captain at the wheel of my own destiny and decided to just go for it and trek up to New York to get a hair makeover from him. No one would argue that my hair was really in need of some help style-wise and that Nick Arrojo was the perfect hair stylist to remedy that problem.

Travel Beauty: New York

travel_beautySomething I firmly believe in is that you drive the course to chart your own destiny. Friday morning I decided I needed a change. Don’t you ever watch those makeover episodes and wish it could happen to you? Well I chose not to wish anymore and decided to MAKE it happen. My hair has grown to about 23 inches long and without a second thought, I decided I wanted to go to New York, make an appointment with Nick Arrojo (yes THAT Nick Arrojo) and put my hair in his hands (literally.) And yes you will hear all about that experience shortly, don’t you worry!

When I wrote Makeup Minute, I used to do a series every time I traveled called “Travel Beauty” (how unique, right?) and now you will see that here on A Girl’s Gotta Spa! when I decide to jet set. Pictured here are the products that made their way to New York with me:
