When Dawn Christian, an Independent Rep. for SeneGence, emailed me and asked me to review LipSense, I was intrigued. I had never heard of SeneGence prior to Dawn’s email. She promised me I would love their best selling product, LipSense, which boasts to be a long wearing liquid lip color that lasts 4-12 hours. Since there are many times I just wish my favorite lip color would last for hours on end, I knew this was something I had to try.

Dawn sent me LipSense in Dusty Rose, LipSense Gloss in Pearl and LipSense Ooops Remover. She was careful to include instructions on how to use this liquid lip color and noted that I should follow the instructions exactly. Since I am a girl who never pays attention to directions, I was glad that Dawn was sure to point out that I really needed to read the instructions!

The LipSense liquid lip color is basically a specially formulated lip color that tints your lips. To get a really nice deep color, you should apply 3 coats. This is a very thin formula, so 3 coats is not thick at all. In fact the lip color quickly absorbed into my lips, unlike lipstick or lipgloss that lay on top of your lips. LipSense Liquid Lip Color doesn’t contain any moisturizers or emulsifiers, which is how it is able to absorb into your lips and not come off.

The LipSense Gloss is a high shine Shea Butter gloss. Ultra shiny and ultra moisturizing! The Shea Butter Gloss is what holds the color for longer lasting wear and moisturizes your lips while wearing the Lipsense lip color. You can wear this gloss with the LipSense or on its own. I really loved this Pearl color, it really gave my lips such a wonderful shine.

LipSense Ooops Remover is a gentle color remover should you make a mistake when applying the liquid color and also, to remove your LipSense products at the end of the day.

So did it live up to the 4-12 hour wear? I decided to really give this product a run for its money. I had a 3 day craft fair that I was doing and applied the LipSense products at 9am. I did lots of gabbing, sipping my drinks, eating food and so on. I reapplied the gloss (only) around 12pm to keep my lips moisturized, without checking my lip color. I checked my lips at 2pm, to find that my lip color looked exactly, and I mean EXACTLY, as it did when I applied everything at 9am! I kid you not! I was impressed.

At around 5pm is when I noticed that the color was only slightly beginning to wear off, and in the center of my lips. Which, actually, gave my lips the look of appearing fuller due to the lighter color of my lips showing through in the center. I only had to touch up the center of my lips with the liquid color and I was good until 8pm, at which point I decided to take off the LipSense for the night. I lightly rubbed the wand with Ooops over my lips, and it easily took off the color. Fabulous!

Things I noticed, but quickly got over: LipSense Lip Color tingles a bit when being applied. I almost want to say it felt like tickling more than tingling. It quickly subsides as soon as you apply the gloss. Also, I am used to my lipsticks and glosses having some sort of fruity scent. LipSense Lip Color has more of a medicinal scent to it, again, it goes away when you apply the gloss. And honestly? After about 3 days, I didn’t even notice anymore.

Other things I loved about this product besides that it lasted for hours on end: The color didn’t rub, kiss or smear off! I was amazed.

So if you have been looking for a lip color that lasts you the day, you can surely find it in SeneGence’s LipSense Liquid Lip Color. I can honestly say I love this product!

When I was in Manhattan, a friend had mentioned that tarte’s Little Blot Book was the ultimate in shine control. As a girl whose shine sometimes affects even those wearing sunglasses, I knew I had to try it. Shine, with me, has been a never ending battle.

When I received my Little Blot Book, it indeed looked like a book. Adorable, yet stylish. When I popped it open, there was a decent sized mirror, mattifying powder, a small brush and blotting papers. It’s compact, yet still gives you an enormous amount of product.

I am an ingredients fanatic, so it impressed me to find out that the mattifying powder contained: Vitamin E and A, Green Tea, Chamomile and Aloe. So I could control shine and nourish my skin? Excellent!

So does it work? Yes! In the morning, I use the blotting papers, brush on the powder, then apply my loose powder over it. The mattifying powder feels very light, so you don’t get that caked on feeling when you add loose powder later. I only had to touch up a few times during the day and the shine control lasted for hours. Love it!

This is a product I now carry as a staple in my handbag. My battle with shine control is now over.

Country Bunny Bath and Body’s Fall Product Launch is only weeks away! Our Founder, Nancy Bogart, is going on a nationwide “Moxie Tour,” and will be coming to Goldsboro, Maryland on Friday August 25th.

Moxie (noun, slang): In the face of difficulty, having spirit and courage, using skill and know how.

The Moxie Tour consists of Nancy talking to empower women and sharing her story, a light dinner (sandwiches, salad bar) that is diet and diabetic friendly and then the best part…the launch of new products! All guests will recieve free samples and a catalog for our Fall/Winter line. I believe there may also be giveaways as well. I’m excited as I love to be one of the first people to see the new products in person. Since I truly believe our products are fabulous, I’m sure that whatever they are adding to our current line, will be just as fabulous!

I won’t pretend that my husband eagerly massages my back every night like a good husband, but for those of you out there with wonderful husbands/boyfriends/wives/girlfriends, this post is for you. (I am in the category of wonderful wife.)

In September of 2002, my husband was in a pretty bad car accident. He was hit from behind by an 18 year old girl who was reaching behind her seat for her cell phone. My husband ended up with several fractured, compressed and punctured vertabrae, resulting in neck surgery. He now has several vertabrae fused and has a titanium rod in his neck. Due to the pain this causes him, he frequently….ok he more than frequently, asks me to massage his neck and upper back.

Being straightforward with you, one of the things I hated most about massaging his neck from the pain and knots in his muscles, was the greasy massage oils that I used to use. I hated how they would get on my clothes, how it would sometimes stain my upholstery and just the fact that it was so darn greasy.

So when Country Bunny Bath & Body came out with their Oil-free massage gel, I decided to give it a try. The Whispers of Lavender Oil-free massage gel is glycerin instead of oil. So not only is it not greasy, but it also moisturizes your skin, as glycerin is a natural humectant and beneficial to your skin. This massage gel also contains Chamomile, which has soothing properties. The Whispers of Lavender scent is that of our Lavender and Eucalyptus fragrance. Eucalyptus is great for the respiratory system and also works wonders if you are congested or have a cold. The Lavender is a relaxing and calming scent.

I have found that I like to massage my husband’s neck and upper back with our massage gel at bedtime, as the lavender helps him unwind and fall off to sleep easier. I also use this product at my Spa Shows when I give hand massages. When I demo this product at Spa Shows and craft fairs, people are always surprised at how very little you need to really spread the gel around. I have found that a 9oz. bottle of the massage gel lasts me about 8 months.

A great feature to a using an oil-free glycerin massage gel over regular massage oils, is that the massage gel washes off easily. It won’t leave a greasy film or a sticky residue.

The other thing that is great about the massage gel is the bottle it comes in. It contains a pump that you can twist in an “on/off” position, therefore making it difficult for little fingers to get a little pump happy. I have been thankful many times for this feature.
