I’ve been there myself, late night and you’re super tired. It’s not that big of a deal if I forget this one time to wash off my makeup, right? Mike Petrizzi coloring a model’s hair for an editorial shoot at Zotos Professional.
Aside from, “What is the perfect hair color for me?” the second most asked question is, “How do I prevent my hair color from fading?”
While I was at Zotos Professional’s headquarters, I had the opportunity for AGEbeautiful’s Creative Director, Mike Petrizzi, to highlight my hair. I asked him to lend a few tips from how to prevent hair color fading to explaining the difference between permanent and demi permanent hair color. Read more
Since 2000, yearly neuromodulator procedures, such as Botox, Xeomin and Dysport, in the U.S. have increased by 800%, with over 6 million procedures performed in 2013. So what exactly does this popular procedure do?
These neurotoxin procedures are typically viewed as a cosmetic minimally-invasive procedure that removes lines and wrinkles from the skin. They work by injecting a small dosage of neurotoxin into the skin of the targeted area. Once introduced, the neuromodulator temporarily paralyzes local muscles by preventing nerve cells from receiving signals. Ultimately, this is what causes the overlying skin to become freshened and wrinkle-free. Amazingly, these subtances not only keep skin looking young and fresh, but can actually provide many other health benefits. Read more
Marina Azizova, Director of Research and Development at Zotos Professional
If there is anything that I learned while in Darien, Connecticut recently visiting Zotos Professionals’ headquarters, it’s that the signs of aging are not just visible via your skin.
I had the opportunity to sit down with Marina Azizova, Director of Research and Development at Zotos Professional to talk about what happens to hair as we age and how their new AGEbeautiful home hair color and hair care collection helps to combat these signs of aging. Marina has been with Zotos for 15 years working with aerosol, hair color and as part of the hair care lead development of technology.
I asked Marina what the most exciting part of being a chemist at Zotos has been and she told me it was the technology of anti-aging hair care because it covers such a wide range of people. The biggest misconception, and it is often perpetuated by the beauty industry, is that anti-aging when it comes to hair, simply means combating gray hair. This isn’t true. Read more
I recently had the opportunity to spend some time at Zotos Professional’s headquarters to talk with their colorists and hairstylists. My focus during the visit was to learn more about the AGEbeautiful hair care line, which is the first salon quality, professional hair color intended for use at home. It’s also the first hair color that targets the 5 signs of aging hair.
Check out the video below of my interview with Christine from Zotos, as we talk about one hair myth and some of the signs of aging hair: Read more
This summer I’ll be 40. Wrinkles and fine lines know their way around my face like a road map. I wish what I know now about anti-aging, I knew 20 years ago so that I could take better care of my skin. However, since I can’t literally turn back time, at least I can use products that will lessen the appearance of the signs of aging like crows feet, discoloration and sagging skin with eye care wrinkle treatment products like RoC® RETINOL CORREXION® Eye Cream, RoC® RETINOL CORREXION® Sensitive Eye Cream, and RoC® MULTI CORREXION 5 in 1 Eye Cream. (All of these products can be found at your local Duane Reade.)
Please join me and special guest, Dr. Debra Jaliman, board-certified dermatologist, as we talk about eye health and Retinol products that help you to look younger. I personally know how important anti-aging creams are (now that aging has hit me square in the face!) Read more
I don’t know about you, but I love coloring my hair at home. I like the idea of carfting my own color and then being able to say I did it myself when someone comments on the amazing color. That’s why I am really excited to have partnered with AGEbeautiful from Zotos Professional. AGEbeautiful is a new anti-aging professional home hair color sold exclusively at Sally Beauty.
Join me on Tuesday, March 11th at 1pm EST for an #AGEbeautiful Twitter Party. We’ll be tweeting about the 5 signs of hair aging, as well as tips for using professional home hair color. A Twitter party wouldn’t be complete without giving away product too!

The Dead Sea is known for its one-of-a-kind mineral-rich properties. It is highly sought after in skin and body care because of how well it nourishes the skin.
Health & Beauty Dead Sea Minerals, an Israeli based beauty brand, recently reached out to me to try some of their skin care. This winter has caused carnage with my skin, so I agreed without batting an eye.
Soapless Face Peeling with Dead Sea Mud: This is an exfoliating cleanser that contains dead sea mud, green tea extract, argan oil, olive oil, tea tree oil, aloe vera and chamomile. It is gentle enough for everyday use. The consistency is like a thin gel and it’s not drying to your face. The exfoliation is nice and my skin felt great after using it. It does have a strong fragrance to it.
Purifying Mud Mask: I do love a good mud mask, which always works best with my combination skin. While oftentimes the downside is that clay or mud masks can tend to also be drying, this particular mud mask is enriched with aloe vera. While Health and Beauty says this product is safe for use 2-3 times per week, I always advise to only use a mud mask 1-2 to prevent skin from going into overdrive with sebum production. The texture of this mud mask is creamy and it does have that familiar mud fragrance that I love. Read more
Women learn at an early age (teens and pre-teens) that healthy skin is of the utmost importance, particularly when it comes to the upper body and face area—it’s an idea or notion that’s instilled within women probably from the time of birth. Have you ever noticed how soft a baby’s skin is?
TV commercials and magazines are inundated with images of women with healthy, glowing skin, and that beautiful, aesthetically pleasing look that every woman strives to obtain. Some women that fall short of that radiant look, as seen on television, simply use a lot of makeup to achieve that every woman strives to obtain.
Women who are naturally blessed with that glowing look don’t use makeup at all, however, they still look for alternate solutions in an effort to compete with other women who are blessed with perfect skin, much like the ones in the TV commercials—it makes you wonder what these people to make their skin look so good.
