Exfoliating my body is one of those acts of beauty that I try to perform about twice a week. I love how soft, smooth and radiant my skin feels and look after exfoliating. However, as much as I love freshly exfoliated skin, sometimes I am just too lazy or don’t have the time to perform a proper, thorough total body exfoliation. This is where my new best friend the Sabon Loofah Soap comes in. Sabon Loofah Soaps are glycerine-based soaps poured into natural loofah (sea sponge). They smell downright delicious (I especially love the Amber and Lemon.) They contain natural ingredients like Coconut Oil, Glycerine, and Sea Loofah. Read more
Do you love a good Twitter Party? You know we do and we’re excited to host a party about summer legs! On July 22nd at 8:00pm ET, please join us for the #SummerizeYourLegs Twitter Party where we’ll be discussing women’s razors and shaving tips, and giving you a chance to win prizes!
No matter your age, summer is meant to wear that sundress, that really cute skirt, swimsuit and shorts! That means your legs have to be in tip top shape to show them off! It also means you can no longer hide your shaving laziness under jeans! You SO know what I mean! Warmer weather means smooth legs are back in season all while protecting them from the sun’s damaging rays. That means Skintimate Shave Gel, Schick Quattro for women’s razors, and Hawaiian Tropic SPF lotion are all in order. Come share your shaving tips and chat with us about summer beauty during this Twitter party! Read more
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of visiting a coffee plantation in the Kintamani region of Bali thanks to my fiancé’s obsession with the Luwak Coffee that is produced in this region. The plantation we visited not only produced Luwak Coffee, but also produced ginger, turmeric and a host of other spices, fruits and vegetables.
At some point in the tour I mentioned to our guide that my sister and I have been using coffee grounds as a scrub for a few years now and it is still one of my favorite DIY body scrubs. Our guide in turn told me that a lot of the women in that area also use coffee grounds as a scrub as well, but they combine it with ginger powder, turmeric powder and coconut oil for paste/scrub that is great for your skin. Cruelty Free Consumer takes the guesswork out of finding great beauty, baby, pet and lifestyle brands that are truly cruelty free.
I love Leaping Bunny’s approach to sorting out which brands are certified cruelty free, because you can certainly say you are, but until you are certified…it’s simply just a marketing point on your product page. As a Leaping Bunny certified bath and body brand, A Girl’s Gotta Spa! is able to partner with other like-minded retailers, like Cruelty Free Consumer, who take the guesswork out of asking yourself, “Is this brand cruelty free?” Read more
Finely crushed ice, lucious bits of lemon and the tart yet sweet taste of lemonade.
If you are a Rhode Islander, you know exactly what I am describing: Del’s Lemonade. It is the refreshing treat I grew up with while living back in my home state, and no, it is NOT Italian ice.
So when Makes Scents Natural Spa Line sent their Organic Spiked Lemonade my way, my immediate thoughts upon opening the products were summer and happiness. Isn’t it funny how a fragrance can make you immediately nostalgic? Read more

I’m thrilled to announce that on June 6, 2014, A Girl’s Gotta Spa! will officially launch on Gloss48.com. Read more
It may sound silly, but even though I don’t drink, those Corona commercials snag my attention every time. Sounds of the ocean, the sense of relaxation and the refreshing lime placed perfectly in the bottle neck. It’s that lime that calls out to me saying, “Let me quench your thirst.” Read more

Leave the comforting and warm scents of winter behind and trade them in for something lighter. Fruits and florals pair perfectly with strappy sandals. While I love the musky fragrances of the colder months, by March I long for scents that are fresh and uplifting.
The harsh and bitter cold has done a number on most of us, leaving skin dehydrated and flakey. There are three lotions you need this Spring that will not only provide your skin with the continued nourishment it needs, but provides that olfactory invigoration to help uplift your mood. Read more
The concept of A Girl’s Gotta Spa! began simple enough 9 years ago this October.
I was 31 years old at the time. I moved from the suburbs of the Philadelphia area to the rural surroundings of the Pocono mountains just two years prior. I had 3 boys already and soon enough would be having a 4th. The idea of taking time for myself was not a foreign concept, although one that seems to have some duplicity in the notion of it. On the one hand you have people telling you that you need some me time, “Take some time for yourself,” they’d say, “You deserve it.” Then, on the other hand, you have people tsking you and accusing you of being selfish for doing so.
I believe you deserve to be pampered. Read more
