While the Melvita Apicosma Body Ultra-Nourishing Body Balm has honey, cocoa butter and even stevia in the formula, don’t eat it! You’ll be tempted, believe me it looks like vanilla frosting in the jar and smells great.
This line is special because it uses the power of three different honeys (thyme, acacia, and orange blossom), royal jelly for its regenerating capabilities, and cocoa butter in a rich, delicious smelling formula that treats and heals dry skin. In addition, this Ultra Nourishing Body Balm has stevia leaf extract in the mix of its beneficial ingredients. Melvita’s products are certified organic, made with 99% of the ingredients that come from natural origin. Read more
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, a flowery scented body cream from bodycology. From their new Sweet Love Fragrance collection, the Nourishing Body Cream contains notes of sweet mandarin, sparkling red pear and vanilla orchid. Fruity top notes dry down and give way to a floral heart of sweet rose and amber. If you like very feminine fragrances, then this body cream will definitely appeal to you.
I generally prefer clean, light fragrances but did not mind the Sweet Love Fragrance. I would however, only use one product at a time from this collection and would definitely not layer them as they might be too overpowering when used together. When I first applied the Sweet Love Nourishing Body Cream, the fragrance was pretty strong, but throughout the day it became much softer and lighter. I would certainly use this body cream when I want to embrace my girly, romantic side. Read more
I freely admit that I am a coffee addict. Are you one too?
While Gail may be brave enough to DIY it when it comes to her coffee scrubs, I’m more of a do it for me kind of girl. So when isola Body Scrubs contacted me about their Coffee & Sugar Scrubs, I was all in. Read more
I could think of no more perfect bath and body products right now at the height of cold and flu season, than H2O Plus’ Sea Salt line. No, it won’t mean you can avoid a flu shot, but it will mean that when you are feeling miserably sick, these are products you want to have on hand to lift your mood and awaken your senses. Something I find goes steeply downhill when I’m laid up in bed sick.
Of course, you can use these products without being a germ-fest. They are perfect any time.
Sea Salt Body Wash is enriched with European sea salts to lather away impurities and exhilarate the senses while the Sea Salt Skin Smoother reveals healthy, glowing skin with exfoliating European sea salts, nourishing botanicals and soothing almond oil.
The scent is refreshing, unique and soothing at the same time with its ocean-like fragrance and notes of green tea. I love that the scent not only encases my entire bathroom with the aroma, but it remains lightly on my skin for hours once I’m done showering.
The Sea Salt Body Wash comes in a bottle that at first glance looks to be glass, but is a thick plastic (perfect for people like me who are clumsy but love luxe-like packaging.) The body wash is thick and luxurious. Read more
Hands have it bad in the winter.
Between constantly washing your hands in an attempt to avoid the flu and germs, to the bitter cold of the winter weather, if you are not giving your hands extra TLC right now, then I’m pretty sure you are suffering with dry, flaky and chapped skin. At my house, I also have a wood stove to help keep my home warm, which also tends to really dry out the air. If my skin isn’t moisturized, it feels the effects of dehydration fairly quickly.
These are my favorite must-have hand creams for winter: Read more
In an effort to be more well groomed in 2013, I thought I would begin the new year with an all out at home waxing session. I mean what better way to get rid of the old and welcome the new, soft, smooth and newly hairless, than by ripping it out by its roots?
In an ode to winter I had neglected my usual waxing for quite some time, after all, isn’t a bit of extra hair natural insulation? OK, maybe that’s a bit of stretch seeing as how I live in Florida, but I needed some type of an excuse when my boyfriend gave me the side eye after lovingly rubbing my legs. Read more

The story of entrepreneur Jessica Kernochan gives us all hope of achieving our dreams! What began as a fun idea for Christmas gifts has evolved into a thriving business! In the winter of 2002, Jessica began mixing up one-of-a-kind body scrubs and soft skin lotions for her friends and family. It turned out to be destiny as the last dot.com she worked for folded, leaving her jobless. “It forced me to commit to my dream of creating a beauty line,” says Jessica. And so production began. After the process of finding the perfect concoction for her trademark sugar soufflé body scrubs, Jessica began going to beauty stores to sell her goods. The products sold themselves with their unique formulation and tantalizing scents. Soon, Jessica had to leave her kitchen behind and find a warehouse big enough to whip up her products and ship out orders. After just four short years, LaLicious built a bigger facility in order to meet the needs of a successful growing business. Now her line is sold at select retailers and spas across the country! There’s nothing worse than dry skin in the winter. Flakes everywhere, itchiness, skin snagging your sheets…
While I’ve said repeatedly that hot showers in the winter contribute to dry skin (and they do), I’ve been guilty of a few hot showers on occasion. Sometimes there is nothing better when you are sick, need to relax or just plain need to warm up. To combat these skin care don’ts that we tend to do, an effective moisturizing body wash is called for.
As you may know, sometimes the body washes that lather the most also tend to strip the skin of moisture. Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash lathers enough while utilizing gentle cleansers so that skin remains soft and moisturized. They also have their NutriumMoisture and by reading the label I see moisturizing ingredients like glycerin, soybean and sunflower seed oil. Read more
Everyone likes to have a little fun, right?
Remember those times as a kid when you would simply play in the bath until your skin pruned? Bath time wasn’t just about getting clean, it was about fun. Read more
My sister is, and always has been, my beauty mentor. Whenever I’ve had a beauty ailment (which is a weekly occurrence,) I’ve always been able to count on her to steer me in the right direction. Whether it be over plucked brows, breakouts or a lackluster complexion, she always seems to have a remedy in hand. Her latest beauty advice for me was a body scrub using coffee grounds.
This DIY body scrub was honestly one of the easiest and most enjoyable beauty adventures I’ve been on in a long time. I got to enjoy a delicious cup cup of coffee then indulge in an amazingly effective…and cheap at home spa treatment. I just took the leftover grounds into the shower with me and rubbed it all over my body. The coffee grounds make a really gentle scrub, but also does a great job of exfoliating. Caffeine is also known to be a fantastic anti-cellulite treatment. The strong smell of coffee in the shower also gave me an energy boost. Read more
