Handmade Soap from Faith, Soaps and Love

Faith, Soaps & Love Handmade Soap

I rarely, if ever, purchase soap at the store. A plain, white, boring bar of soap? No thanks. I’ll spring the few extra dollars and shipping for artisan quality soap any day of the week. I’m all about pretty things, from bottles and jars, to the colorful look of handmade soaps.

For many that know me personally, I am a strong person of faith. So when I came across Faith, Soaps & Love, well, it was a match made in heaven. (Pun fully intended!) Read more

Healthy Stuffed Eggplant Recipe with Cracked Freekeh

Next up on the Faccia Bella Recipe Series for beautiful skin and a healthy heart is my HEALTHY stuffed eggplant recipe. Growing up, my mom would bake up her mouth watering stuffed eggplant that my taste buds would give a standing ovation, but suffice it to say that my waistline did not. I decided to take this tasty lunch or dinner recipe and revise it to meet healthy standards, while maintaining the taste! When you’re messing with a favorite family recipe it makes one a little nervous, well it made me a little nervous anyway, but I am super excited to report that it did NOT disappoint and I will likely pass this version down to my kiddos (BTW, my seven and ten year old indulged with me and gave it a thumbs up!)

lifetherapy Play: Choose Your Mood

Choose Your Mood: lifetherapy play #bathandbody

One of my favorite things about beauty products, is how quickly it can change your mood. Want to wake up your senses? Products with citrus, eucalyptus or peppermint are sure to revitalize you. Want to soothe your mind? Lavender scented products will provide it in an instant. That’s why I love the bath and body collections from lifetherapy. Each one is based on the mood you wish to have. Working as much as I do, and being a mom to four sons, I felt I needed a little more playfulness in my life, so I chose to try products from their Play collection. Read more

Rodan + Fields Multi-Med Therapy for Your Skin Issues

Rodan + Fields Skin Care

Real Results: Simple Solutions to Complex Problems

While everyday skin conditions can be complex, the solutions don’t have to be. Whether you face teen or adult acne, maturing skin, premature aging or sensitive skin, finding the right skin care products that best meet your skin care needs is vitally important. What is equally as important, is using the right products according to viscosity.

Rodan + Fields has products that are based on a philosophy of Multi-Med Therapy—using the right medicines and active cosmetics, in the right formulations, in the right order. As practicing dermatologists, Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields know that treating the underlying cause of a problem works and yields long-term benefits.

The thing is, in order to see real changes in your skin, you must not only partake in a regular morning and night skin care routine, but you need patience, as well! Patience because real results come over time with regular use.  While “miracle products” may promise instant results, these results are only temporary. Products that truly work for the long term, take time. Read more

Delectable Shrimp Scampi Recipe with Farro or Quinona

Faccia Bella Recipes Series
Do you want beautiful young looking skin, a healthy heart, and better overall health?

The good news is that it is easier to achieve than one might think, and is well within the busy woman’s time and budget limits. Does it sound to good to be true? It’s honestly not, and is simply a matter of a few MINOR adjustments to the food you already consume, and perhaps an addition of a few new satisfying recipes.

Shrimp Scampi with Farro. Use avocado oil instead of olive oil. Delicious! (Recipe also has gluten and casein free options.)

I don’t believe in making a bunch of huge changes all at once, as that is one factor that typically assures failure. We are creatures of habit, so although one might be able to make a major change for a short time, the idea for keeping with it for the long term (which is where one will see the best benefits) is small modifications to your daily habits and routine that will amount to a big difference in the way you feel each day. Not to mention that holding out long term is where you will see the quantifiable effect on your heart healthy numbers. Read more

Stay Beautiful Naturally

Stay Beautiful - Naturally! (Includes a DIY lip balm recipe!)

We all want to stay looking our best, but sometimes you have to wonder exactly what is in the products that you buy at the beauty counter. We always advise to read the label and know your ingredients. With more and more people looking towards more natural ingredients, it’s good to know which one’s work best for your skin according to the season.

One of the many winter skin ailments we all deal with is dry, cracked lips. This is because the humidity is very low in the winter and when you turn your thermostat up, you’re depleting moisture which further dries out your skin. What you really need is a good lip scrub and lip balm to nourish and protect your lips!

Here’s a DIY Lip Balm recipe: Read more
