EnvyDerm Lip Volumizing and Conditioning Plumper

As I get older I notice the collagen making a prompt exit from my lips leaving them looking lifeless and thin. The best way to combat thinning lips (or if you have thin lips to begin with) is to keep them hydrated and to use a lip plumper. When Read more

No3 Berry Face Oil Review

Can I use face oil if I have combination skin? Of course you can, simply avoid pore-clogging oils and use only the ones intended to moisturize your face. L.A. Christine's No3 Berry Face Oil is comprised of Lingonberry, raspberry and acai berry, yet smells of an herbally sweet concoction. High Read more

Verb Detangle+Defrizz Conditioning Leave-In Mist Review

To be completely up front about things, I hate washing my hair because it's a nightmare to comb afterwards.  It’s much like that of a 6 year old little girl. It tangles like nobody’s business and is a nightmare to comb after washing. It’s so bad that my hairdresser Read more

Clinique High Impact Extreme Waterproof Mascara Review

We all want lashes that make a high impact statement. Like, how did she get lashes like that? Or even better, I WANT lashes like that!

While I may have decent lashes, something I’ve noticed as I’ve gotten older is that my lashes are getting lighter in color. I have no idea why this is…and if you know, please enlighten me. So it is an absolute must-have, whether I have on a full face of makeup or not, mascara MUST be worn.  Read more

What’s in My Summer Bag? e.l.f. Lotion Wipes and Clinique Chubby Stick

As much as I enjoy playing with makeup, one of the reasons I adore summer so much is because I don’t need to wear as much product as I do during the colder months.  Thanks to a (very gentle) kiss from the sun, my skin is clearer, allowing me to nix foundation, concealer, and bronzer.

On days when I dare to go especially bare, I pack only the essentials in my beach bag.  Aside from a standard SPF 45 and a sun hat (must haves!), there are two secret weapons I’ve yet to leave home without this summer.

The first: tinted lip balm. After floating from brand to brand, I’ve fallen head over heels in love with Clinique’s Chubby Stick. The tried-and-true classic packs a triple punch with a kiss of color, SPF 15, and serious moisturizing properties.  I’m a personal fan of the “Chunky Cherry” shade, but the color is so subtle that almost any shade will do the trick.  Read more

Makeup Tips to Look Younger

It’s been a while since I’ve done a video for A Girl’s Gotta Spa! so today is your lucky day… With my 38th birthday looming ever closer, I thought it would be a good idea to share a few tips for looking younger.

(Stila, Clinique, LashControl, Xtreme Lashes, Christopher Drummond Beauty, Shiseido, Pureology)

The above are the products that I used to get the look below (although my awesome hair did not translate on camera):

Check out my video and if you love it, share with your friends! And never mind my cleavage…yes, bad shirt choice…keep focused on the words coming out of my mouth. (Pretty please.) What are some of your makeup tips for looking younger?

Redness-Relieving Moisturizers For a Gorgeously Even Complexion

If you’re like me and have sensitive skin that’s prone to redness — and not in a sort of subtle, sweet rosy-cheeked sort of way — you know how tough it can be to cover it up without irritating it even further. Whether you’re just washing your face too roughly, using too-harsh products not cut out for sensitive skin, or just in a climate that doesn’t sit well with your finicky complexion, you know redness is unsightly (and sometimes even painful and dry!) and can be extra tough to soothe and calm down.

Piling more and more concealer and powder on top of the problem definitely isn’t the way to go, so start at the base of your skincare with a soothing, redness-relieving moisturizer! Not only will it help eliminate the appearance of redness, but it also relieves dryness and flaky skin to prevent future redness and irritation, and feels soothing against sensitive and enflamed skin. Even if your skin isn’t prone to redness at all times of the year, it’s a great product to have on hand in the dry winter months!
