When it comes to skin care, I am very picky with what I put on my face. Since there's no hiding imperfections should a reaction to a product happen, I always do my research on ingredients and check out my fellow beauty blogger reviews. One of my favorites types Read more

Perfective Ceuticals Divine Brightening Mask

Aqua Spa Body Cleanser Review

I strongly believe that one should make time spent in the shower as relaxing and enjoyable as possible...even if it's one of those two minutes showers that seem to be occurring with more frequency as we are all continuously pressed for time. One of the best ways to turn shower time Read more

Review: Fusion of Color Cosmetics

mineral_makeupFusion of Color Cosmetics is a mineral makeup line of products aimed at leaving your skin looking flawless without appearing like you are trying too hard. And I think you know what I mean…call it ghosts of pancake makeup past.

They offer a wide variety of mineral makeup from concealers and correctors to finishing powders, eye shadows, blush, etc. I also loved that for some of us still set in our ways of press powder and cream concealers…they offer that too. Their fall palette of colors are gorgeous!  Working Girl and Too Cool are beautiful.

Q&A with Lana Horochowski, Makeup Artist on Mad Men

mad-men-joanI very rarely, if ever post a press release in its entirety on my blog. However, I know many of you are Mad Men enthusiasts (all I have to do is watch my Twitter-stream on a Sunday night!) and I felt this interview with Mad Men Makeup Department Head, Lana Horochowski, who uses MAC Cosmetics on the set, was a really fantastic read.

Q: You’re the new department head at Mad Men for Season 3, will you be making any changes to any characters makeup?

Review: Rimmel Glam’Eyes Lash Flirt Mascara

rimmel-mascara-glam-eyesWith Rimmel’s Glam’Eyes Lash Flirt Mascara, I felt like I had the longest lashes! I probably only swiped each set of eyelashes two or three times and I could already feel a difference. I went away on vacation for about a week and this mascara was great for touch-ups and it was nice to have it with me on the airplane, too. I could just whip it right out, apply a few swipes of this mascara and it felt good as new.

You know, my lashes felt so flirty, you could almost feel the wind they were making every time I blinked. They’re like fans! Read more

Review: Stila Mango Crush Lip and Cheek Stain

stila-mango-crushGuest review from beauty blogger Beauty Girl Musings.

Stila Mango Crush Lip & Cheek Stain has become my latest Summer beauty crush, and I think you’ll discover the same when you decide to try it for yourself– trust me, this is a must-have!

A little confession: I’m a full-face makeup girl (primer, foundation, powder, blush, multiple eye shadows, liner, mascara– you get the idea). Yes, everyday I go through my routine, and it’s just a habit to apply everything. In my defense, during the Summer months I choose more season-friendly colors that will withstand the heat, and never, ever do I look like I just stepped out of a Vegas stage show.

Ok, confession time is over– moving on… Read more

Get Your Brows into Tip Top Shape

benefit-brows

As we all know eyebrows can dramatically change your look and enhance your appearance when shaped correctly. Ideally it is best to have your brows professionally shaped. But on a daily basis your brows need to be kept up in between waxing and shaping sessions. The best way to do this is with a brow kit. There are plenty of brow kits out there. Our favorite kits include some kind of gel or shaping wax, a highlighter, and also a powder or pencil to fill in the shape… Read more

Kissable Couture Glosses Inspired by Michelle Obama

kissablecouture1

Celebrity makeup stylist AJ Crimson and model/TV personality Keisha Whitaker (wife of actor/director Forest Whitaker) are the co-creators of a line of luxe lip-gloss, Kissable Couture. The glosses have high shine appeal with the perfect amount of shimmer as well as wearable moisturizing formula without the stickiness of most lip-gloss. Sold at stores including Fred Segal Apolthia, Louis Boston and Henri Bendel.

The collection of glosses includes a custom shade inspired by First Lady Michelle Obama, named aptly “First Lady” and part of the Kissable Collection. It is a nude gloss and is perfect for all complexions. We haven’t heard if the First Lady has tried the gloss, but we love the tribute to her. Our fave from the collection is the “Smooches” gift set. It’s a five-pack of mini glosses, which includes Kissable Couture’s best selling shades. Included in this pout’-of-this-world set are shades including Dreams, Johnny, Dylan, Honesty and Forest. The full sized glosses retail for $22 and the Kissable Couture Smooches gift set retails for $32.
