Recently I attended a media preview for Victoria’s Secret beauty and had the chance to try some products from the VS Makeup collection. The collection is inspired by backstage beauty products used by experts and supermodels both off and on the runway. The collection was created by a former makeup pro for M.A.C. cosmetics. I was impressed with the sleek packaging and high performance formulas. I decided to give the VS Soft Focus Liquid Foundation SPF 20 ($16 for .8oz at Victoria’s Secret) a try. Read more
Add some sparkle to your wintertime look with an eyeliner infused with glitter this season. Makeup artist Jemma Kidd’s Crushed Jewel Gel Liner ($20.00 at Drugstore.com ) adds a whimsical look with tiny specks of glimmery shimmer that can be used as over shadow or pigmented liner. You can also wear it alone to dramatize the sophisticated palette of colors including azure, lapis, onyx and topaz. The sparkly liquid liner is made of a clear gel base containing suspended flecks of glitter. Not for only special occasions, this liner makes a fun look for every day. The ’80s are back on trend in a major way so why not have some fun with some seriously retro chic glitter liner. Read more

I admit, I only jumped on the Adam Lambert bandwagon a few episodes shy of the end of American Idol last season. I remember it was the episode where he looked like a young Chris Isaac. For some reason Adam made guyliner hot. And after finally caving in and getting his CD this weekend, it’s obvious that Glambert has some serious love for makeup as inspired by his 80’s glam predecessors (Poison, Warrant, Dokken–oh yeah I know them all because I was quite the pseudo-metal head.)
So if I were given the magical ability to be Adam Lambert for one day, here’s the beauty products I’d be sporting:Â Read more
I first came into contact with Christopher Drummond back in 2007 when he was getting ready to launch his company. There are two things I love more than John Mayer and that is shiny lip gloss and double duty products. So when CoverGirl gave me the opportunity to try out their new Smoky ShadowBlast and ShineBlast Lip Gloss, I was totally game. I previously tried their LashBlast Length mascara (be sure to check out my Encyclopedia of Mascara’s on Facebook) and thought it was a pretty good mascara. So did both of these products meet my expectations? Read more

L’Oreal recently sent me the newest addition to their line up of mascara’s: Telescopic Explosion. I will start off by telling you that I do indeed like this mascara, but I will burst your bubble if you think your lashes will look like Penelope Cruz’s on their website (around these parts, we call that PhotoShop and/or eyelash extensions.) Aside from that, let’s talk about why I loved Telescopic Explosion and how it made my lashes pop… Read more
The holidays have finally hit and parties abound this month! I know that I am not a natural when it comes to applying my makeup and I often turn to my makeup artist friends for helpful beauty tips. This time I chose to tap Carmindy from TLC’s What Not to Wear for her 3 best holiday beauty tips.
