NARS can do no wrong. They are like that best friend that always knows the right thing to say and do. NARS products always deliver exactly what I’m looking for and the newest additions to their Spring 2014 Color Collection are the perfect pop of color and fun! PERFECT for Spring and Summer! This season, color is everything! (As long as it’s not the kind of color that leaves you looking like you’re on stage performing with Kesha! You know what I mean?) With bright colored shadows, I’m always careful that I’m not painting my face like a clown. I love to have fun with color, but the texture of the shadow and the way it applies can make or break the shadow and the color it claims to be. Read more
The moment I saw Urban Decay’s Facebook post teasing the release of a Naked 3 palette, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Then I wondered, which shades could they possibly come up with that aren’t already covered in my beloved Naked 1 and Naked 2? PINKS! Roses! Yes!
While I love the neutral colors in the Naked 1 and 2 palettes, I’m fair skinned and totally a pink girl. I couldn’t be more thrilled that Naked 3 ($52) is filled with rose hues. The day that it came out on Urban Decay’s website, I attempted to order it, but it sold out SUPER fast. Everyone was after it! I must have talked about it enough to look like a hint drop, because somehow my husband (he’s listening even when it looks like he isn’t?!) surprised me with Naked 3! (He must have been one of the people who beat me to it online! Either way, I was beyond thrilled … he’s a keeper!) Read more
I always feel like the conclusion of the Thanksgiving holiday is congruent with the sound of a gunshot for the 100-meter dash until the Christmas and New Year holidays. I’d usually include Hanukkah in that statement too, but as many of you know this year it began Nov 27th and ends Dec 5th, so I guess my Jewish friends and families shopping alarms went off even earlier this year. At any rate, we will all be attending the various business parties, gatherings, and hopefully at least one night out on the town over the next month til we hit the celebratory wall on Jan. 2, 2014. MAKE is the beauty brand of a new company and online shop called We See Beauty. We See Beauty’s goal is to promote social and economic change through cooperative development. We See Beauty is a for-benefit marketplace of ideas, stories and products that support the cooperative movement. A movement that believes that through shared ownership we can establish a more equitable and beautiful society for all. Thirty percent of all sales will go to fund and build a woman-led cooperative in Brooklyn, set to be the first of many. As far as I’m concerned, this is probably the coolest company I’ve ever heard of and quite possibly an even cooler makeup palette. Read more
I love color. What better way to play with color than to create a dramatic eye makeup look? Sure, it’s not really something you can wear to the office, but it’s definitely an artsy look that may even work for a fun night out.
Here’s the steps used to create this look: Read more
Jennifer Bradley is a very beautiful and talented makeup artist. Jennifer has been inventing beautifully made cosmetics since 2003. Her makeup has been used on celebrities such as Kelly Clarkson and Pam Anderson, as well as FLOTUS and POTUS Michelle and Barack Obama and many others. Her makeup is fragrance free and formulated for sensitive skin. While using her shadows I noticed they never creased, the palette was true to its color, lasted all day and went on smoothly. Read more
When I first saw Sonia Kashuk Eye Duo Down to Earth, which is a brownish green and a goldish brown, I honestly thought that maybe the two shades together where going to be extremely dark. Sometimes darker colors can possibly give the effect of having a black eye if not blended and highlighted properly. However, when I used a base color on the lid and blended the two colors in the crease it turned out beautifully, giving my eyes a natural, fabulous look. The eye shadow lasted pretty much all day with a primer, easily applied, was softer than your average shadow (which I love), and never Read more

This is my first ever Youngblood purchase and I went with the Youngblood Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow Quad in Purple Majesty. This quad contains the shades Moonstone ( a sheer satin white), Lilac Bouquet (a light warm satin lavender), Wild Orchid (a warm orchid mixed with bronze satin with a bit of metallic sheen, and Heather Smoke ( a deeper purple shade). L’Oreal has updated their eye shadow quads for 2013. The new Colour Riche Eye Shadow Quads ($7.95) are made up of micro-milled pigments in a crystal-clear base that creates a silk texture and rich smooth color. Sounds good!
And they give us just of ton to choose from, there are an astounding 20 color combinations ranging from nudes, the brights to smoky and everything in between. In fact it’s one of those in between I have for you today, Rose for Romance. Believe me it was hard to choose–I think I stood in front of the display for a full hour before deciding on #105 Rose Romance. I was drawn like a magnet to the neutrals of course, then the purple combinations caught my eye and then of course the smoky quads were beckoning too. Finally I settled on Rose for Romance and I’m glad I did. Read more
