Verb Detangle+Defrizz Conditioning Leave-In Mist Review

To be completely up front about things, I hate washing my hair because it's a nightmare to comb afterwards.  It’s much like that of a 6 year old little girl. It tangles like nobody’s business and is a nightmare to comb after washing. It’s so bad that my hairdresser Read more

Sonia Kashuk Eye Duo Review

Sonia Kashuk Eye Duo

When I first saw Sonia Kashuk Eye Duo Down to Earth, which is a brownish green and a goldish brown, I honestly thought that maybe the two shades together where going to be extremely dark. Sometimes darker colors can possibly give the effect of having a black eye if not blended and highlighted properly. However, when I used a base color on the lid and blended the two colors in the crease it turned out beautifully, giving my eyes a natural, fabulous look. The eye shadow lasted pretty much all day with a primer,  easily applied, was softer than your average shadow (which I love), and never Read more

Skinn Cosmetics Seduction Luxe Eye Shadow Palette Review

skinn-cosmetics-luxe-eye-shadow-palette

Dimitri James founded Skinn Cosmetics in 2002, after a long career in the cosmetics industry.  His goal was to create high quality products while keeping them affordable.  To that end, the packaging is basic and no-fuss.

Dark, smoky shadows, thick smudged liner and bold lashes are undeniable statement looks, but sometimes the best statement for your eyes is to bring out their natural beauty. Lucky for us, celebrity makeup artist Dimitri James has made it easy to achieve this timeless, effortless look with Skinn Cosmetics new Luxe Premier Eyeshadows in Seduction ($32).

Natural doesn’t have to mean boring. These neutral yet seductive shades give your look an appealing feminine  confidence. The palette contains 12 shadows with anti-aging actives, anti-oxidants and collagen-boosting peptides  to the eyelids. They are talc-free so even over 40 lined or crepey eyes can wear them!  Read more

This is my first ever Youngblood purchase and I went with the Youngblood Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow Quad in Purple Majesty. L’Oreal Color Riche Eye Shadow Palette Review

L’Oreal has updated their eye shadow quads for 2013. The new Colour Riche Eye Shadow Quads ($7.95) are made up of micro-milled pigments in a crystal-clear base that creates a silk texture and rich smooth color. Sounds good!

And they  give us just of ton to choose from, there are an astounding 20 color combinations ranging from nudes, the brights to smoky and everything in between. In fact it’s one of those in between I have for you today, Rose for Romance. Believe me it was hard to choose–I think I stood in front of the display for a full hour before deciding on #105 Rose Romance. I was drawn like a magnet to the neutrals of course, then the purple combinations caught my eye and then of course the smoky quads were beckoning too. Finally I settled on Rose for Romance and I’m glad I did.  Read more

I have been a long time fan of CoverGirl since the age of 13 when my mother started allowing me to wear makeup. (How old were you?)

Kevyn Aucoin, The Essential Eye Shadow Set Palette #2 Review

Recently I had the chance to work with the Kevyn Aucoin Essential Eye Shadow set, Palette #2 (found at Beautysak.com) and absolutely fell in love.  As soon as I opened up this palette, I was blown away by the radiance of the 5 different shadows which, not to mention, blended into perfection. There’s many choices of shadow applications in just this one shadow set. However, I chose a romantic smokey eye ( shown in the picture below) easily applied in just minutes.  Read more

Mally Beauty Evercolor Shadow Sticks Review

Pressed for time? Always in a hurry? We modern women play so many different roles, it’s a wonder we have time to sleep!  That’s why I’m so thrilled when I find a makeup product that gives me a pretty, polished look in no time flat. Mally Beauty’s Evercolor Eye Shadow Sticks are just that product! These  multi-tasking eye shadows are like having an eye primer, eye base and eye shadow all in one. There are 22 amazing shades to choose from!

I originally fell for Mally’s Evercolor Eye Shadow when I purchased the Mally Tips and Tricks Kit earlier this year. That kit had an Evercolor Eye Shadow Stick in Twilight, a pretty everyday taupe that I finished up quite quickly. That only fed my hunger for more so when this 5-pc. set was offered at QVC, I snatched it up!

This set includes:  Read more

Sunday Riley Prismasilk Eye Color Review

No matter what day of the week it is, you’ll love Sunday.  Sunday Riley was best known for her skincare line until she branched out and quickly won both consumers and bloggers hearts.  Each product comes in an array of options; an amazing  32 eye shadows and 23 lipstick hues, each one more beautiful than the last. And, because Sunday is dedicated to good skin, each product is infused with good-for-your-skin ingredients. “Round-shaped pigments give a silky feel and diffuse light for a smooth, luminous finish. Highlights, defines, and enhances. Paraben Free.”

Sunday Riley Prismasilk Eye Colors are silky smooth and very pigmented. They are very finely milled and the texture is buttery soft.  They also blend beautifully. These shadows  are ideal for the over 40 woman with no glitter or shimmer, hence no fallout (one of my pet peeves). The shadows glide on easily and bring a pretty glow to the eyes even making you look more wide awake!

The Sunday Riley line was previously only sold at DermStore and Barney’s but now it is also at Sephora, thank goodness! In my area though, I still have to order online so I feel very lucky that the eye shadow I purchased was a perfect fit for my pale, warm complexion. I chose Fall Leaves, a lovely golden bronze/copper.

The Sri Lanka Collection by Three Custom Color Specialists Review

Three Custom Color Specialists has a collection that is ideal for holidays.  They call it “a glitzy look inspired by 908 carats of prismatic brilliance.” Sri Lanka, once known affectionately as “Ratna-Dweepa” or Gem Island, is a haven for some of the world’s most precious stones. On a recent trip, one of Three Custom’s founders, Chad Hayduk, was so mesmerized by the prismatic luster of the country’s gemstones, he set out to capture their radiance stateside. The result–two shimmering shades that dazzle like their namesake stones.  And yes, the stone pictured above is really 908 Carats!! Smoky Topaz Eye Shadow ($22.50) - A rich gold with a glimmer of warm bronze and copper. Use wet or dry on the lid or as a gorgeous  eyeliner. The shimmer is subtle with no fallout.  Read more
