Rita Hazan Root Concealer Review. Is It Magic?

Have you ever thought you were cruising along just fine, holding your own in the aging department?

Then one day your unsuspecting self looks in the mirror and you wonder who’s staring back at you. Who’s that old lady with the grey hair and how did the b*tch did take over my face? And who the hell put that grey wig on me? A few tugs on the “wig” and you I realize it’s  MY own hair and I’VE turned grey overnight (or so it seems). Prive Leave-In Conditioning Treatment For Soft Shiny Hair!

Privé Formule Aux Herbes is a luxurious leave-in hair conditioner. I kid you not, it has been probably 15 years since I’ve used a leave-in conditioner so I was hesitant to try this. So hesitant that I let it sit on my bathroom counter for a few weeks. I finally forced myself to open the bottle and I’m glad I did.  Read more

Aveda Clove Color Conditioner Review

Whenever I can do something, anything, that will lengthen the time in between beauty services, I am all about it.  Don’t get me wrong, I love receiving any and all types of beauty services…the dreaded bikini wax included, but I never enjoy receipt of the bill for said services. I am always in search of a way to make my services last longer so as to go into the spa/salon less frequently.  My latest beauty budget friendly discovery is Aveda Clove Color Conditioner.

This conditioner is a color enhancing conditioner, so it conditions your hair while rejuvenating and refreshing your color at the same time. The Clove Conditioner is supposed to enrich warm tones in medium brown hair, but I have dark brown hair and it worked just fine with my hair color.  My color looked a lot richer and my hair was super shiny and soft.  The scent is pretty great too, the only drawback of this conditioner was that it does get messy in the shower and my fingers were a bit stained after using it. If you have a white shower, don’t be alarmed as it washes away pretty easily with soap and water…and it is after all a color conditioner.  Read more

Tibolli Desired Hair Oil Review

Shiny, smooth, sleek, frizz and flyaway-free hair…who wouldn’t want that?

I know this is something I always strive for and more often than not, struggle with.  I have naturally very curly hair and whenever I choose to blow dry it, I know I will be in for a bit of a hair battle.  Whenever I do find a product that prevents fizz and flyaway it has a bad habit of weighing my hair down and leave it feeling and looking greasy.  On the other hand the products that add shine tend not to do that good of a job taming fly-aways and preventing frizz. At times I have combined the greasy products with the too lightweight products to find a happy medium, but I am not a fan of having more than one hair product in my hair at a time.  A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to find my happy hair medium when I was given the opportunity to try Tibolli Desired Hair OilRead more

Sibu Beauty Revitalize & Renew and Cellular Support Review

I am all about beautifying from the inside out.  After all, people are always saying “you are what you eat”, so it would make sense that if you put great things into your body you will look great on the outside. Or at least that’s what I hope for, which is why I choose to eat a mostly clean and healthy diet and take my supplements whenever I can.  I also normally try to avoid the latest beauty/diet fad since they never really seem to live up to the hype.

That said, I could barely resist the urge to try Sibu Sea Buckthorn Revitalize & Renew Juice and Cellular Support Dietary SupplementsSibu Sea Buckthorn products promote healthy and beautiful skin, hair and nails due to Sea Buckthorn being an amazing source of Omegas 3, 6, and 9. It is also  a rich source of  essential fatty acid, Omega-7, an essential fatty acid vital to collagen production, cellular support and healthy skin, hair and nails.  Read more

Neil George Refresh Dry Shampoo Review

You know I have a love affair with dry shampoo. Honestly, if you have never tried it, what are you waiting for? You are so missing out!

What I loved About Neil George Refresh Dry Shampoo:

  • Small, lightweight bottle means I can easily bring it along for travel.
  • It instantly wipes out any greasy residue in my hair and breathes new life into it. (This is most important to me for my bangs!)
  • It smells so good! It is not heavily perfumed, but does make your hair smell clean.  Read more

Salon Graphix Intensive Hair Repair Masque Review

Healthy Hair Nutrition by Salon Grafix is a line of hair products made up of an Intensive Hair Repair Masque and a Cleansing Conditioner (see my review here). Healthy Hair Nutrition is sulfate-free, which is better for your hair. If you have damaged hair, you’ll want to check this out.

Healthy hair is a balancing act. Regular shampoo strips your hair of essential oils, causing dryness, breakage and excessive color-fading. Our sulfate-free, gentle cleansing formula re-balances the amount of natural oils your hair needs, leaving your hair stronger and shinier, without weighing it down.”  Read more

Review: Awapuhi Wild Ginger Keratin Intensive Treatment

I was insanely excited about trying Paul Mitchell’s Awapuhi Keratin Intensive Treatment.  I’ve read a ton of blog posts about how great it works, plus ads for the Awapuhi line seemed to be in just about every beauty magazine and I was unable to resist the temptation of words like intensive conditioning, repair  damage in minutes and intense hydration.  So finally bombarded by everyone’s praise of this line, I finally located a salon that carried the Awapuhi Wild Ginger Keratin Intensive Treatment and danced home eager to saturate my hair in what I expected to be an intensely hydrating, damage repairing hair treatment.

After the first use I didn’t visibly notice nor feel any improvement in my hair.  I am not one who likes to write off something as not working only after one use so I decided I would continue to use it until the tube was empty, which I did and never got the results that so many others have had.  If anything my hair seemed more dry.  Perhaps I needed to use a shampoo from the same line to get the results but I have used different brands of shampoo with a different brand of conditioner before and have seen and felt improvements immediately.  Unfortunately this just did not work for me.  Read more

Review: Philip Kingsley Moisture Extreme Shampoo & Conditioner

When it comes to my shampoo and conditioner, I might experiment often with different brands but after a few uses I inevitably return to my tried and true brand.  The reason for my straying frequently could be attributed to the thrill of the new, but the thrill never lasts for very long and in the end I always return to my reliable, trusty, been there for me shampoo and conditioner.

Very recently though, I strayed and have absolutely no intention of ever returning and I absolutely mean it.  There will be no looking back or changing my mind.  I tried Philip Kingsley’s Moisture Extreme Shampoo and Conditioner and it fulfilled every hair need I currently have, I kid you not.  My hair is naturally curly and highly textured so it requires a lot of moisture, it also undergoes quite a bit of heat and styling (one of the perils of being a working model) and I travel often so the different climates and water tend to wreak havoc on my hair.  Read more
