Favorite Black Eyeliners

There's something that a black eyeliner conveys that brown or even brightly colored or metallic eyeliners can't duplicate. Black says bold, daring, classic, sexy. Philip Kingsley Scalp Toner and Stimulating Scalp Mask Review

philip kingsley stimulating scalp mask reviewLately I’ve been hearing more and more about how important a healthy scalp is for promoting the growth of healthy hair.  As I am constantly on a quest for hair that is stronger, shinier and healthier, I took it upon myself to promote my own healthy hair growth beginning with my scalp by using Philip Kingsley’s Stimulating Scalp Mask and Scalp Toner.

The Stimulating Scalp Mask is a vitamin and mineral rich mask that encourages blood circulation.  It contains ingredients that aid and strengthen cell development, binds moisture to hair and scalp and energizes and improves the condition of the scalp and hair by helping the formation of collagen, keratin and elastin.  The mask comes in an easy to use tube with a tiny nozzle that makes application a breeze and not at all messy. I love the cooling, tingling sensation that the mask creates while on my scalp.  My scalp felt soothed, energized and refreshed after using the mask. Read more

A Great Hair Day #DoveHairAffair

Dove #GreatHairAffair

Without question, aside from how much sleep you get, the outcome of your hair each morning can determine whether or not you are going to have a good day.

Honestly. If my hair looks amazing, I simply can’t stop trying to capture a glimpse of myself in the mirror (something that rarely happens otherwise), I take endless selfies to update my Facebook, G+, LinkedIn and Twitter profiles, and my attitude can’t help but be positive throughout the day. Great looking hair is where it’s at.

So when Dove launched their #GreatHairAffair contest, guess who was all over it? Read more

Got2b Beach Trippin’ Salt-Infusion Waving Spray Review

A Girl's Gotta Spa! Got2b Beach Trippin #review

During the hot and humid summer months, one of the best ways to style your hair without actually doing much to it is by using a sea salt texturizing spray. Personally, I’m a big fan of the “I just went to the beach” look. I’ve been trying out Got2b Beach Trippin’ Salt-Infusion Waving Spray (also known as beach spray) for the past couple of weeks because my hair just can’t handle the humidity and I’m obsessed with beaches waves. MoroccanOil Hydrating Styling Cream Review

MoroccanOil Hydrating Styling Cream #review

After my boyfriend somehow lost my beloved blowout lotion and I was forced to use my regular body lotion to blow dry my hair for a few days, thanks to me not being able to locate a salon, beauty store or dry bar in my area that carries the brand I normally use, he went out (all on his own) and bought me the MoroccanOil Hydrating Styling Cream.  I guess he felt really bad because every time I blow dried my hair, I would rave about how much I loved the blowout lotion I was using.

To be honest I was not at all excited about trying the MoroccanOil Hydrating Styling Cream, but since it was sweet that he took the time to go out and get it, I thought I would give it a try and I’m pretty ecstatic that I decided to stop pouting and try it. Read more

Smooth Frizz-Free Hair with blowpro Straightening Lotion (Review)

blowpro-straightening-lotion-review

On those rare occasions in summer when I choose to blow dry my hair, I need a product that can effectively banish frizz.  Since my hair is naturally very curly, in the summer all it wants to do is to be curly, so blow drying it straight is an epic battle between me and my hair.  A lot of the products that successfully calm and tame my hair in the cooler months just do not cut it in summer.  I purchased blowpro while in Florida because a hair product that performs well in the weather there, is a pretty good indication of what I can expect it to do all summer (no matter where I go.)

The blowpro straight to the point straightening lotion that I purchased worked amazingly well in the Florida heat and humidity.  I followed the suggested usage and applied the straightening lotion from root to tip on my freshly washed hair and blow dried in sections as usual.  The directions also suggested applying extra product to the tips to help prevent fly-aways, which I did. Natural Texture with Miss Jessie’s Jelly Soft Curls

miss-jessies-jelly-soft-curlsLet’s face it once summer arrives, for us naturally curly haired girls, there is absolutely no use in trying to battle with what our hair naturally wants to do…which is to suck up the summer humidity and curl to its utmost content.  And why would you even want to spend precious time indoors trying to battle with your hair anyway when you could just wash, apply a bit of product and just go enjoy summer in all of its glory?

I plan on spending most of my time at the pool or on the beach and the last thing I want to worry about while partaking in is frizzy straight hair that wants to go curly or weird, crunchy, “jheri curled” looking hair.  So in an effort to embrace my natural texture but still have soft, smooth curls, I decided to give Miss Jessie’s Jelly Soft Curls a try. Suave Moroccan Argan Styling Oil Review

suave-moroccan-argan-styling-oilMoroccan Oil is all the rage for the benefits of argan oil on both skin and hair. Suave’s Moroccan Infusion line of hair care products aim to deliver incredible shine, softness and conditioning to your hair. I had the opportunity to try the new Moroccan Argan Styling Oil from the Moroccan Infusion line. Typically I’m nervous to put any oil in my hair for fear of weightiness and making my hair too greasy, but Suave’s Moroccan Argan Styling Oil was the perfect hair treatment.

There are three ways you can use this oil in your hair:

1. Prior to showering. Just apply a few pumps of the oil to your hands and then smooth throughout your hair. Leave on for 5 minutes, rinse and shampoo and condition as you normally would. This helps create an incredible shine to your hair. Read more
