LATHER Go Coconuts Body Scrub and Body Whip Review

There is nothing I love more in the summer (or for a mid-winter wake up) than the scent of coconuts. The fragrance makes me nostalgic of my childhood spent on the beaches of Rhode Island--from Prudence Island to Narraganset and Portsmouth, the scent of coconut-scented sunscreen filled the air. Aveeno Protect + Hydrate Lotion Sunscreen Review

Life after Melanoma for me has been an interesting balance of educating myself and others about the dangers of the sun and skin cancer awareness ... and finding ways to enjoy my time in the sun without being totally paranoid. Part of that mission has included trying every sunscreen Read more

Hydrated Summer Lips with Nivea Lip Butter

Nivea Lip Butter Review

Once summer arrives, I need everything to feel and be light, simple and effortless.  From my clothing, to food to my beauty products, everything needs to have that summery carefree essence to it.  Do you agree?

Which is why a few of my beauty products from winter, fall and even spring just do not make the cut for summer.  During the cooler months I don’t mind feeling like there is a layer of protection between my skin and the dry, damaging chill of fall and winter. However, in the summer while I still need the protection, I really do not want to feel the products on my skin. I’ve had to retire a few of my lip products for the time being, especially my heavier lip balms and opt for lighter feeling, but still hydrating lip products. Read more

NOYA Kosher Natural Lip Balm Review

Finally, a lip balm that you can actually eat!  Not that I would intentionally eat my lip balm of course, but I do have a bad habit of licking my lips a lot so I know that I am ingesting a good portion of what I apply to my lips.

This is why I am ecstatic about Noya’s Kosher Natural Lip Care.  All of their lip balms contain only 3-5 all-natural, kosher ingredients such as Coconut Oil, Beeswax and Organic Extra Virgin Olive.  The lip balms come in four flavors, Cherry, Vanilla, Spearmint and Classic and it’s difficult to pick which one I love best because they are all amazing.

They are moisturizing without being super sticky or heavy feeling and both Read more

Overnight Lip Treatments For Softer, Fuller Lips While You Sleep

Unless you’re a stickler for protecting your pucker during these hot summer months (good for you!), chances are, your lips aren’t having as much fun as you are while you mingle at friends’ pool parties and bask the day away at the beach. Plus, if you have that dreadful bad habit of constantly chewing on dry lips like I do, and just can’t help making things even worse, your smoocher probably hates you right now. But don’t fret – even if you forget that ever-so-important SPF lip balm before leaving the house, hope is not lost – you can still soothe sun-abused, wind-ravaged lips while you sleep. Lip Care: Besame Sweetheart Balm

I used to absolutely LOVE lip balms, but the older I get the more I seem to shy away from them.  I guess I just have memories of lip balms being really thick and sticky with overwhelmingly sweet fruity scents and somewhat childish packaging… I had apparently missed the boat on Bésame Sweetheart Balms.  This balm is nothing like the lip balms I have used in the past.  It is really moisturizing and conditioning without being  thick and sticky.  The Tangerine Sweetheart Balm smells like tangerines, but is not overpoweringly fruity, the scent is actually pretty refreshing.  I am absolutely in love with the sheer color of the balm, it’s a very flattering reddish coral shade.  The packaging is also quite beautiful, it’s apparent that a lot of detail went into the packaging of this balm.  It is pretty and feminine with just a touch of glamour.

Everything about Bésame Sweetheart Balm appealed to me, from the scent to the packaging to the feel and color.  I would not be surprised if while wearing this balm my boyfriend is tempted to sneak in some extra besos…

Have you tried this lip balm or any other products from Bésame?

Review: Einstein Cosmetics Lip Therapy

The nights are getting colder and soon enough we’ll be turning up the heat to keep warm this winter. Of course, along with that comes dry skin and of course, chapped lips. Einstein Cosmetics has two lip products to help keep you one step ahead of dry lips (which never look pretty no matter how much lipstick you apply) .

Einstein Cosmetics Cooling Relief Balm is deliciously scented. A combination of vanilla and mint provide a warm-cool sensation to your lips. The balm isn’t waxy feeling or tacky and it’s rich with cocoa butter and Vitamins A & E to intensely hydrate your lips.

Einstein Cosmetics Lip Therapy is quite an interesting creation. In the jar it is a cream that looks and feels like body lotion. It contains tiny yellow Vitamin C beads that first lead me to believe that this was an exfoliating cream rather than a lip product you wear. However, rubbing your lips together enough will slough off the dry skin and minimize the beads to a size that you can no longer feel them on your lips. The scent is very light and resembles a mint or eucalyptus fragrance. It surely makes your lips tingle and feel cool.

Both products kept my lips well moisturized; have you used these products? Let me know what you thought!
