A Girl's Gotta Spa! Leaping Bunny Certified as Cruelty Free

Something I've learned in my 8+ years of beauty blogging, is that many brands like to say they are something without any proof to back it. Brands say they are natural, but the ingredient label tells a different story. Brands say they are organic because they assume you won't Read more

#Eyes4NYC Twitter Party 4/24 #ad

This summer I'll be 40. Wrinkles and fine lines know their way around my face like a road map. I wish what I know now about anti-aging, I knew 20 years ago so that I could take better care of my skin. However, since I can't literally turn back Read more

Beauty Benefits of Lime

It may sound silly, but even though I don't drink, those Corona commercials snag my attention every time. Sounds of the ocean, the sense of relaxation and the refreshing lime placed perfectly in the bottle neck. It's that lime that calls out to me saying, "Let me quench your Read more

RickyColor Disco Sticks Lip Gloss Review

Ricky's NYC Disco Sticks Lip Gloss #review #makeup

As an avid lip gloss fan, I’m not so fanatical of the sometimes messy or tacky application. I do so love the smooth texture and shine, though.

Popular beauty store, Ricky’s NYC, has pretty lip gloss in a crayon that still provides the hydrating texture and shine I adore without any mess or fuss. At first look I was a little nervous about the colors since I am super fair skinned and all, but they do not apply dark at all. They provide more of a sheer look with a pretty pop of color to your lips. Read more

Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss Review

Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss #review #makeup

If you read my Urban Decay Naked 3 eye shadow palette review, you could probably tell that I’m pretty much obsessed with UD’s Naked line. My passion for their eye shadows drove me to hunt down the new Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss ($20) the moment it was available. No really, I literally called around to every Sephora and Ulta within an hour’s drive to see if they had any in yet. My local Sephora had just gotten a few in and they weren’t even on display yet. Miracle Skin Transformer Lip Rewind Review

Miracle Transformer Lip Rewind #review

I LOVE brands that stand for something beautiful, the type of beauty that envelopes the essence of love, joy, and hope. The kind that gives and quietly supports the unspoken interdependence we each need at some level in our lives.

When I look to review a brand I not only want to know how the product will work for the caregiver and busy woman, I want to know what the brand stands for, and if they will multiply the blessing of success to pass it on to others. In other words, what are they doing with what they have to produce positive community impact? Read more

Burke Williams H2V Spa Gloss Line Review

Burke Williams #Spa Gloss

I tend to wear more lip gloss in the cooler months than I do lipstick, simply because gloss can give me some extra hydration versus a lipstick that may dry them out. Burke Williams, a day spa with 9 locations across northern and southern California, has a fantastic spa gloss that is part of their H2V Skin Care line.

Art+Science=Beauty. This is the philosophy behind Burke Williams innovative H2V Skin Care line. By combining botanical and herbal ingredients with tested and proven scientific ingredients, a team of experienced estheticians, scientists and top industry professionals have created an effective and results-oriented line of products designed to repair and enhance skin, bringing natural beauty to the surface. Lancome Gloss In Love Review

Lancome Gloss In Love #review #makeup
As a lip gloss lover who appreciates some color and shine all in one tube, I was super excited to get my hands on Lancome’s new lip collection, Gloss In Love. I’ve admired Emma Watson’s lips (she’s the face in all of the ads for the line) for a few months and had product envy. Lancome’s Gloss In Love gave Emma gorgeous lips that shined and had the perfect coating of color. To be totally honest, (because that’s just how I roll) I mostly loved this gloss, but the thing I didn’t love about it was a big one for me. Read more

VBeaute Lip Spread Hydrating Lip Gloss Review

VBeaute Lip Spread Hydrating Lip Gloss Review I’m a bit of a lip gloss junkie. I carry a makeup bag full of lip products on me at all times … but once VBeaute’s Lip Spread Anti-Age Hydrating Lip Gloss ($19) made its way into the pouch, I found myself ignoring the others.

For starters, I love the name and of course wanted to run around bragging that I had Virgin lips. Second, when you stumble upon something good, you stick with it. VBeauté just launched the 2013 Limited Edition Lip Spread colors and my lips were loving the pinkish-nude shade named Virgin. The new Lip Spread Color Glosses are lovely, (I’ll get to that) but their names are what first grabbed my attention … they’re sassy!  Read more

EnvyDerm Lip Volumizing and Conditioning Plumper

EnvyDerm Lip Plumper

As I get older I notice the collagen making a prompt exit from my lips leaving them looking lifeless and thin. The best way to combat thinning lips (or if you have thin lips to begin with) is to keep them hydrated and to use a lip plumper. When EnvyDerm reached out to me about their Lip Volumizing and Conditioning Plumper, I was excited to give them a try. Read more

Secret Agent Secret Lip Affair Plumping Gloss Reviews

Finally for those of us NOT born with full Angelina Jolie lips, there is help without expensive fillers or severe irritation. I remember several years back when Du Wop came out with their first lip plumper. My lips burned like hell-fire and were red and irritated for a few days. I don’t want full lips THAT badly!

Flash forward a few years and Secret Agent Beauty has a wonderful solution–plumping lip gloss in levels!  Kind of like Thai food, Secret Agent has three levels of plump. All of the glosses have peppermint and menthol oil in them but with varying intensity 1+ 2++ or 3+++. There are three choices:  Read more

CoverGirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm Review

Jumbo seems to be quite a fad in cosmetics. We’re seeing all kinds of chubby crayons from lipsticks to eye shadows. I guess I’m a chubby chaser when it comes to lipstick, because I love the ease with which they apply, just a few quick swipes and you’re done. I do have one of the Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Balms and several Tarte LipSurgence sticks, but I wanted to see if there was something available at a drugstore price. The CoverGirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm ($7) display lured me in (okay, I wasn’t really that hard to get).  Read more
