Verb Detangle+Defrizz Conditioning Leave-In Mist Review

To be completely up front about things, I hate washing my hair because it's a nightmare to comb afterwards.  It’s much like that of a 6 year old little girl. It tangles like nobody’s business and is a nightmare to comb after washing. It’s so bad that my hairdresser Read more

Makeup Tips: Senna Mineral Eyeshadow Trio with a Bright Lip

DSCN7754

When I first received this Senna Mineral Eyes Shadow Trio in Satin Doll in a Glossybox I wasn’t impressed. It wasn’t as pigmented as expected and really blended out too easily. I promptly put it in a drawer to be forgotten and there it sat sad and unused. Fast forward to the beginning of spring and you’ll find me digging through my stash for something exactly like this! A Girl’s Gotta Spa! Featured in Spry Living Mom Makeover

Don’t forget to enter our Mom: Get Glamorous Contest (entries taken until May 24th!)
Join our Twitter Party on May 15th from 1pm-2pm EST #momglamorous

When Spry Living Magazine asked me if myself and two A Girl’s Gotta Spa! bloggers would be interested in making over our moms, we didn’t hesitate to say yes. Myself, Ashley and Hillary all participated in Spry Living’s Take Year’s Off Your Looks Instantly (web and print) story and Making Over Mom with tips.

Each of our moms had challenges that prevented them from updating their look. My mom had hair loss/thinning hair, sagging skin, etc. all related to bariatric surgery she had two years ago. Ashley’s mom has nerve damage and a disability when it comes to the use of her arm. Hillary’s mom was nervous since losing all of her hair so long ago (but it has since grown back.)

From skin care to hair care to makeup, here’s the breakdown of the products used to transformed our moms.

jennifer bradley makeup

Jennifer Bradley is a very beautiful and talented makeup artist. Jennifer has been inventing beautifully made cosmetics since 2003. Her makeup has been used on celebrities such as Kelly Clarkson and Pam Anderson,  as well as FLOTUS and POTUS Michelle and Barack Obama and many others. Her makeup is fragrance free and formulated for sensitive skin. While using her shadows I noticed they never creased, the palette was true to its color, lasted all day and went on smoothly.  Read more

Spring Makeup Tips: Neutral Eyes, Cheeks with a Pop of Color

So now that spring has officially sprung and the snow is fading, I’m finally starting to leave my house! Whew! When I am just heading out to run errands I like to choose a look that is quick, easy, but spring pretty. It only comes around once a year so I had better take advantage while I can!

My easy face look is a BB Cream and my personal favorite right now is from SKIN79. I also need a concealer but if you’re lucky enough to not, then congratulations. I have been using my Maybelline Age Rewind under my eyes in the shade Brightener. For dark spots or blemishes I used my Sheer Cover Duo Concealer. Read more

Cover FX Anti-Age Smoothing Eye Primer Review

Cover FX Eye Primer

Primer is something you just can’t live without. It creates a flawless canvas to apply your makeup, but best of all, when using an eye primer, it will help your eye shadow stay intact all day.

COVER FX Anti-age Smoothing Eye Primer works miracles. For those of you who have mature skin, have a hard time with eye shadow sticking to your lids, and eye shadow that creases, you will absolutely love this product!  Read more

Sonia Kashuk Eye Duo Review

Sonia Kashuk Eye Duo

When I first saw Sonia Kashuk Eye Duo Down to Earth, which is a brownish green and a goldish brown, I honestly thought that maybe the two shades together where going to be extremely dark. Sometimes darker colors can possibly give the effect of having a black eye if not blended and highlighted properly. However, when I used a base color on the lid and blended the two colors in the crease it turned out beautifully, giving my eyes a natural, fabulous look. The eye shadow lasted pretty much all day with a primer,  easily applied, was softer than your average shadow (which I love), and never Read more

MAKE Cosmetics on We See Beauty

MAKE is the first for-benefit color cosmetics line launching on WeSeeBeauty.com – a for-benefit marketplace of ideas, stories and products that support cooperatives. One-third of all MAKE product sales will support the non-profit organization, the We See Beauty Foundation, dedicated to incubate and accelerate women-led, worker owned cooperatives.

MAKE Cosmetics are absolutely brilliant. There are many different colors for the lips, eyes and cheeks which are all beautifully and brightly made. The makeup I tested lasted all day, didn’t crease or smudge and was very easy to apply and there are tons of different beautiful makeup applications to choose from.  I choose (4019) Cast Iron Matte Finish Shadow, (6006 Limoges Pink Matte Finish Blush, and (5012) Magnolia Silk Lipstick.  These colors looked absolutely stunning together and could be worn for a day or night time look.
