A Meditation Teacher’s 8 Tips for Better Sleep

Since having Ethan last year, and a few months prior to his birth, sleep has eluded me. Before getting pregnant, I would take melatonin or unisom before bed because my insomnia was so bad. Although Ethan is 1, he still doesn't sleep through the night, which means I can't be Read more

Vole Hair System Review

Don't miss the 20% off promo code below!! My hair has not been at its best this summer.  Sun, salt water, humidity and heat, plus constant styling to battle the heat and humidity all tends to strip my hair leaving it looking and feeling dry and dull. This may sound a bit dramatic, Read more

Spa Pedicure at Utopia Salon & Day Spa in Hawley, PA

The best part of living in a tourist area (the Poconos), is that there are a lot of little gems waiting to be discovered. For me, this gem has been right in front of my face for 13 years. I've driven by Utopia Salon & Day Spa countless times, but Read more

Reflekt Facial Exfoliator Review

This luxury facial cleanser makes skin feel amazing! I've been using Reflekt Skincare for the last 6 weeks about 2-3 times per week. In the summer, a regular cleanser alone won't do the trick to thoroughly rid my skin of all the "gunk" that warmer weather brings when wearing makeup, Read more

Cuepido Cosmetics

Cuepido Cosmetics review via @agirlsgottaspa

When it comes to makeup, I prefer a look that is natural, simple and that enhances instead of covering or transforming, which is exactly why Cuepido Cosmetics peaked my interest.

Cuepido Cosmetics champions the idea of an absolute clean appearance by just putting on what you think is necessary and not overdoing it and instead keeping things natural, simply lovely yet classy. Read more

CIRCA Beauty

I absolutely love getting new makeup. Trying the different colors and products, choosing a favorite, bringing it home and opening that pretty new package. It’s even better when I get something I haven’t tried before. Like makeup from CIRCA Beauty, a cruelty free makeup line that’s affordable, long wearing, trendy, and appeals to different skin tones. And oh yeah, the Creative Director just happens to be Eva Mendez.

Circa beauty foundation review via @agirlsgottaspa

Left: BB Cream in 03 Medium. Right: Liquid Foundation in 07.

I usually cannot find foundations or a BB cream that doesn’t end up being too dark or makes my skin looks ashy. This makeup line is simply amazing! My skin tone would be considered medium brown with yellow undertones and both the Color Balance BB Cream (03 Medium) and Color Balance Liquid Foundation (07) matched my skin without being chalky. My skin looked smooth and radiant! Read more

Makeup Wars: It Cosmetics CC+ Radiance Palette

It Cosmetics CC+ Radiance Palette review via @agirlsgottaspa #makeup

One of my favorite cruelty free makeup brands is IT Cosmetics. They also happen to make the most amazing makeup brushes that are incredibly soft (like swiping a cloud across your face.)  Their newest palette, CC+ Radiance, contains a color correcting powder, as well as a universal blush and bronzer to brighten skin. Each powder is aimed at improving the appearance of your skin tone – so not just concealing an uneven skin tone, but enhancing it in a very natural way. I don’t know about you, but lately all of these conceal and contour how-to’s out there seem to take beauty to an extreme. I’m really more about natural beauty and that’s what I really love about this Radiance Palette. Read more

nyakio ABC African Beauty Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Sunscreen

nyakio ABC African Beauty Cream #review via @agirlsgottaspa #beauty

I’m always on the lookout for a BB or CC cream that not only matches my skin tone but also has SPF 20 and over, covers without feeling heavy or oily, helps to reduce the size of my pores and gives me a little glow. My skin could be described as medium to dark with green undertones and most BB or CC creams ends up making my face look slightly ashy or like I went crazy with a really dark bronzer. I find that mixing two of the several variations of medium colors that I have sometimes gives me the look I’m going for, but honestly with my busy schedule most days I don’t have the time for mixing as I need something that simplifies my morning routine. Favorite Black Eyeliners

Favorite black eyeliners. #makeup #beauty #eyeliner via @agirlsgottaspa

There’s something that a black eyeliner conveys that brown or even brightly colored or metallic eyeliners can’t duplicate.

Black says bold, daring, classic, sexy. While there are times that I opt for brown or grey, a good black eyeliner is always my first choice. Read more

bareMinerals bareSkin Foundation Review

@bareminerals bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation #review #beauty #makeup

The bareMinerals bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation appears to be a love it or hate it type of product. I’ve been using it as my only foundation for a few months now and there are some definite pros and cons. But are the cons enough to make me ditch it? I’m undecided until I see how it functions when my skin changes due to the elements of winter.

In total transparency, I have never used a foundation from bareMinerals before, so I can’t really compare this to the coverage their other foundations provide. However, since it is a liquid foundation, I’ve used plenty of those like LORAC’s POREfection Foundation and Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Foundation, so I know what I’m looking for in comparison. LAQA&Co Fat Lip Pencil

LAQA&Co Fat Lip Pencil #review #beauty #makeup
I love products with a story behind them, which is why I am positively crazy in love with LAQA&Co. Fat Lip Pencils.

The Fat Lip Pencil is a glossy jumbo lip pencil that does not need a sharpener, which I think is absolutely brilliant because there is nothing worse than having to purchase a sharpener for every brand of lip pencil that I decide to try (which is A LOT.)  The LAQA&Co. Fat Lip Pencil has a beautiful glossy sheen with a lightweight, smooth, moisturizing feel on my lips and a refreshing minty scent and taste. Read more
