The best body lotions are the kind that leave your skin feeling soft and hydrated, not just for hours, but for days at a time. I am incredibly picky when it comes to my beauty products, and when it comes to body lotion, I need something that delivers.
Here’s a few of the best body lotions (according to my skin!) Read more
W3LL PEOPLE is a majorly buzzed about makeup brand right now and it’s no wonder why. They’ve managed to create a line of makeup that is not only 100% natural, but it’s also fabulous. Other brands tend to lose the fabulosity (is that even a word?) when trying to please the tree hugging goal of au natural, but not W3LL People. Like they say, Hippie Tested. Diva Approved. This diva can’t get enough of W3LL PEOPLE ‘s Universalist Multi-Use Colorstick.
Here’s the low down on the goodness that is W3LL PEOPLE. W3LL People (well people) is a beauty conscious brand. As they like to say, there are “no nasties” in their products. Their makeup is free of parabens, silicones, sulfates, and artificial ingredients. There’s no harsh chemicals or toxins in their products. Everything they make is 100% natural and eco friendly. So not only are the ingredients premium natural and organic, but they also respect the environment and take pride in sustainability. To top it all off, W3LL PEOPLE is Made in the USA with love.
The minds behind the concept of W3LL PEOPLE (well people) are pretty much the perfect trio of: Makeup Guru, Cosmetic Dermatologist and Treehugger. The brand is the perfect blend of artistry, technology and social responsibility. So now that we know all of the goodness behind the products, let’s talk about performance . . . because let’s be real, how our makeup performs is important! Read more
For the past two weeks, I have been using an amazing multi-purpose product from Farmaesthetics, my favorite natural and organic skincare line. Their Hand to Heel Softening Salve has been a constant presence on my nightstand because it is truly a great product. Read more
I absolutely dislike the feel of too much product on my face and for that reason will avoid face powder like the plague in the summer. I just feel like it does not matter how great a powder is, in summer with the heat and humidity, I have to reapply it so often to banish oil and shine that the powder just starts to build upon my face making it feel heavy and clogged. Last summer I discovered Tatcha Beauty Papers at the amazing eyelash bar and makeup studio Jett Makeup in Edina, Minnesota. These beauty papers are perfect for removing excess oil on my face without ruining or makeup. Read more
Facial towelettes are one of my absolute beauty constants. I always have them in my purse, by my nightstand and in my gym bag. They’re just a perfect way to freshen up after an intense workout, on the airplane, after a late night when you don’t really feel like or have the energy to wash your face or really whenever you just feel like your skin could use a bit of freshening up. The facial towelettes that I’m currently in love with, especially as summer begins to roll around is Yes To Grapefruit Correct & Repair Brightening Facial Towelettes. Read more
In the summer, when it comes to keeping my legs fuzz free, I tend to opt for shaving instead of my usual waxing. This is mainly because waxing requires that your hair be a certain length before you can rip them out by their roots and summer just does not permit hair growth of any kind on anyplace but one’s head…unless you plan on sticking to maxi everything while you grow them out.
I just feel like my legs hide under enough thick layers during the colder months so the last thing I want to do is hide in the summer. Since I opt for shaving my legs during summer I tend to look for shaving products that are really moisturizing without being messy and that are also soothing to my skin since my skin tends to get quite irritated after shaving if I use the wrong product. Nothing says summer and vacation to me more than the scent of coconut. And nothing says swimsuit ready more than soft, smooth, hydrated skin. Now combine the scent of coconut with products that exfoliate and moisturize my skin leaving it insanely smooth, glowing and hydrated. Who needs 80 degree temps? It’s practically summer in my shower right now…or at least it felt like it about ten minutes ago. After I used the Coconut Milk & Honey Body Scrub and Body Butter from J.R Watkins.
The natural scrub is a combination of sugar, shea butter and natural oils and smells absolutely delicious. It effectively exfoliated my skin without feeling harsh and scratchy. I loved that the scrub is also moisturizing so I did not feel like I was stripping my skin of moisturize while I exfoliated. The body butter, like the scrub is also natural and has an amazing scent that is not overpowering. The scent is light, fresh and clean…perfect for summer. It felt decadent and luxurious on my skin and left it looking and feeling soft and radiant. Read more
Finally, a lip balm that you can actually eat! Not that I would intentionally eat my lip balm of course, but I do have a bad habit of licking my lips a lot so I know that I am ingesting a good portion of what I apply to my lips.
This is why I am ecstatic about Noya’s Kosher Natural Lip Care. All of their lip balms contain only 3-5 all-natural, kosher ingredients such as Coconut Oil, Beeswax and Organic Extra Virgin Olive. The lip balms come in four flavors, Cherry, Vanilla, Spearmint and Classic and it’s difficult to pick which one I love best because they are all amazing.
They are moisturizing without being super sticky or heavy feeling and both Read more
In an effort to be more well groomed in 2013, I thought I would begin the new year with an all out at home waxing session. I mean what better way to get rid of the old and welcome the new, soft, smooth and newly hairless, than by ripping it out by its roots?
In an ode to winter I had neglected my usual waxing for quite some time, after all, isn’t a bit of extra hair natural insulation? OK, maybe that’s a bit of stretch seeing as how I live in Florida, but I needed some type of an excuse when my boyfriend gave me the side eye after lovingly rubbing my legs. Read more
Just about everyone I know, both men and women, all have one beauty item in common and that is lip balm. A lot of men may be hesitant to regard lip balm as a beauty item, but regardless they carry it around in their pockets anyway on a regular basis and most women seem to never ever be without lip balm in their purses, desk drawers, night stands, etc. and I am no exception. For me, lip balm is a necessity and I love experimenting with different flavors, brands, scents and packaging because in this economy, it is one of the few beauty items that one can experiment with that won’t break the bank.
My latest amazing discovery is from Chiva-Som, as in the luxury health resort located in Thailand. Read more
