Beauty Benefits of Lime

It may sound silly, but even though I don't drink, those Corona commercials snag my attention every time. Sounds of the ocean, the sense of relaxation and the refreshing lime placed perfectly in the bottle neck. It's that lime that calls out to me saying, "Let me quench your Read more

RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek In Illusive

RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in Illusive #review #makeup

I’ve wanted to try RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek for quite some time now, but never found it in any of my usual beauty stores until I paid a holiday visit to my favorite Brow Studio, Blink For Beauty in Minneapolis, MN.  Finally RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek was right in front of my eyes so I could actually test the colors on my skin and not just guess which color would look good on my skin tone based on a online swatch.

I decided on the Lip2Cheek in Illusive, a berry shade described more accurately as a matte burnt rose hue with a hint of plum.  The color is very soft and pretty on my skin tone.  Whenever I want a more natural look, I will use barely any of the product on both my cheeks and lips, but for a night out I can go bolder with the same color by just adding a bit more.  Read more

Lurk Perfume Oil Review

Lurk RSW005 Perfume Oil Review #BeautySince cooler temps are upon us, many of you might be thinking about switching out your summer fragrances over to something that suits you better during the cooler /colder months.  I’ve started playing around with a few options for a fall and winter fragrance, and while I have not yet settled on one, there have been a few that I’ve placed in my “maybe” pile.

One of those is Lurk’s RSW005 Perfume Oil.  I love perfume oils because they tend to last longer on my skin and to me the scent always seems softer.  Lurk Perfume Oils are hand blended and poured using  pure essential oils in a base of organic jojoba. There is no water or alcohol used in their perfume oil concentrates nor do they use  chemical preservatives, stabilizers or additives. I love the fact that the Lurk Perfume Oils are hand blended and created in SOHO NYC. Read more

NVEY ECO High Definition Cake Eyeliner Review

nvey eco high definition cake eyeliner review

As a gal who prides herself in being pretty adventurous when it comes to trying new things and playing with makeup, I use the same eyeliner every single day and never stray from what’s comfortable. A twist up liner is my go-to. I’m not even brand loyal with it, I just love everything about a twist up liner.

That being said, I haven’t used the twist up liner in 2 full weeks because I’m obsessed with the NVEY ECO High Definition Cake Eyeliner ($29.95). I was skeptical at first . . . but I had no idea how fabulous it was going to be or how easy it was to use. I’ve been using NVEY ECO cake eyeliner in Black/Noir and  I have to say, it’s a gentler alternative to a twist up or liquid liner. The look I’ve been getting is a nice smudged line that’s less harsh than my usual thick solid line. It comes in a pot, so you need an eyeliner brush to apply it. You can choose to either use the brush wet or dry, depending on the look you’re going for and how defined you want your line to look. I prefer the brush dry for day and wet for night. Read more

Nourish Organic Raw Shea Butter Review

Nourish #Organic Raw Shea ButterSince moving to California, my skin has faced its share of challenges trying to acclimate to a much drier climate than I was used to in Miami.  My usual moisturizers have just not been able to live up to the challenge, even the moisturizers that got me through the driest winters in Minnesota have fallen short.  Not wanting to go through summer with dry, scaly skin I opted to give pure shea butter a try.  Normally I would not use pure shea butter on my skin in the summer. Even in winter I tend to only use it on my feet, elbows and knees, but nothing else seems to be working so it was definitely worth a try.  That said, for the past week I have been relying on Nourish Organic Raw Shea Butter to remedy my dry skin issues. Clean Refreshed Summer Skin with Pangea Organics Facial Toner

pangea-organics-facial-tonerMemorial Day means that summer is pretty much upon us and one of the products that I like to incorporate in my summer beauty routine is a facial toner.  During the summer months my skin tends to get a lot more oily and spending a lot of times outdoors means my skin comes in contact with a lot more dirt than it does during the cooler months so I feel like for me a facial toner is essential during summer. I also like to have one stored in my refrigerator for whenever I need a refreshing spritz during the day especially on those unbearably hot summer days.

During this summer, my facial toner of choice will be Pangea Organics Facial Toner Italian Green Mandarin With Sweet LimePangea Organics has lately become one of my favorite eco-centric skincare lines with products that are nurturing, handcrafted and organic and never contain petroleum, sulfates or detergents, synthetic preservatives, artificial colors or fragrances or GMO’s.  The Pangea Organics Facial Toner Italian Mandarin With Sweet Lime is recommended for normal to combination skin, which I possess and in addition to cleaning, refreshing, hydrating and refining the skin it also soothes, which is great for me because in the summer my skin has a tendency to become really angry and freak out in the forms of blemishes and pimples. Farmaesthetics Lip Softener Review

Another outstanding product from Farmaesthetics that I instantly fell in love with–this time it’s their Lip Softener.

As with all of their products, the lip softener is 100% all natural with ingredients such as sweet almond oil, calendula*, Vitamin E, beeswax, peppermint, orange wax, grapefruit peel oil, iron oxide & mica.  It has a really refreshing minty scent and taste that is never overpowering.

All it took for my lips too feel  hydrated and moisturized was just a tiny dab of the softener, just a little really goes a long way and my lips never felt like there was a layer of heavy, greasy lip product sitting on top of them.    The ingredients in this lip softener treat the lip tissue by preventing cracked, dry lips and also aids in preventing fine lines and creases.  The Farmaesthetics Lip Softener is my definition of clean, simple and effective beauty.  Read more
